Mr. Hoang Trung held the following positions before his appointment: Standing Member of the Party Executive Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development , Secretary of the Party Committee of the Plant Protection Department, Director of the Plant Protection Department.

Thus, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development currently has 5 Deputy Ministers including Mr. Phung Duc Tien, Mr. Tran Thanh Nam, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tri and Mr. Hoang Trung. The Minister is Mr. Le Minh Hoan.
