Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has launched a three-week campaign ahead of the general election on July 23.
Mr. Hun Sen, who has been Cambodia's prime minister for 38 years, told tens of thousands of supporters on July 1 that if re-elected, his government would build more roads and schools as well as raise wages and develop the economy .
In his re-election campaign launch message, Mr. Hun Sen also vowed to eliminate "hostile groups that seek to divide the nation, disrupt society and cause political instability."
"If the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) wins, it will be the victory of all Cambodian people," Mr. Hun Sen said.

During the ceremony, Mr. Hun Sen handed over the CPP flag to his son Hun Manet, who led the procession through the streets of Phnom Penh. The Cambodian Prime Minister has hinted that he will soon retire and hand over power to the younger generation.
Before announcing the launch of his re-election campaign, Mr. Hun Sen on June 30 threatened to completely block Facebook in Cambodia, after the social network removed a video of the Cambodian Prime Minister criticizing political opponents.
However, last night, Mr. Hun Sen announced on Telegram that he "has no intention of banning Facebook" because this social network is "the breath of the people". But he declared that Facebook representatives will have to leave Cambodia.
Cambodia's Ministry of Information later said Facebook representatives were banned from operating in Cambodia for "interfering in domestic political affairs", but did not specify how many people were expelled.
Meta, the group that owns Facebook, declined to comment on the move, nor did it say how many representatives it has in Cambodia.
Cambodia will hold general elections to elect a new government on July 23. At an extraordinary meeting in Phnom Penh in January, the Standing Committee of the CPP Central Committee selected Hun Sen as the prime minister candidate, and Hun Manet as the future prime minister candidate.
Mr. Hun Sen, 70 years old, is one of the world's longest-serving leaders. He took office as Prime Minister of Cambodia on January 14, 1985, becoming the world's youngest prime minister at the age of 32.
