The Emulation and Reward Committee (under the Hanoi Department of Home Affairs) has just issued a document to solicit public opinions on the list of individuals expected to be nominated for the title of Outstanding Capital Citizen in 2024. In this list, there is Mr. Pham Quang Nghi, former member of the Politburo , former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee. During the 10 years (two consecutive terms from 2006 to 2016), as Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, he made many contributions to the construction and development of the Capital, including outstanding contributions such as leading the Party Committee and people to build and complete hundreds of large projects in the city. Leading, directing, and successfully organizing the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi; together with the City Party Committee, he led, directed, and successfully organized the implementation of the Resolution of the Central Committee and the National Assembly on expanding the administrative boundaries of the Capital. Having made important personal contributions in the 10 years of construction and development of the Capital, Hanoi is recognized for its remarkable development, is the pride of the people of the Capital and the country, contributing to raising the position and stature of the Capital Hanoi. Mr. Hoang Van Cuong, Professor, Doctor of Economics, Senior Lecturer, People's Teacher, former Vice Principal of the National Economics University. Mr. Cuong is a delegate of the XIV and XV National Assembly of the Hanoi National Assembly Delegation. He always actively contributes to the National Assembly forum and issues related to the Capital. He was assigned to preside over the consultation on the Hanoi Capital Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Mr. Phung Huu Phu, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, former Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council. Mr. Phu was awarded the title of Meritorious Teacher by the President; Third-class Labor Medal in 1997; Second-class Independence Medal in 2010, First-class Independence Medal in 2016; Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister in 2022; Second-class Labor Medal awarded by the Lao State in 2009. Also on the list are Ms. Phan Thi Kim Dung, People's Artist, member of the Women's Union of Nhan Chinh Ward, Thanh Xuan District; Mr. Hoang Quoc Hai, member of the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association; Ms. Dao Thanh Hoan, Deputy Chief of Office of the Economic and Urban Newspaper, Deputy Director of the Ngoc An Center for Research and Application of Psychology and Education. Mr. Chu Duy Kinh, former Commander of the Capital Military Region, former Standing Member of the Hanoi Party Committee, member of the 9th National Assembly, veteran revolutionary; Ms. Duong Thi Thanh Mai, legal expert, former Director of the Institute of Legal Science, Ministry of Justice , Head of the Expert Group to amend the Capital Law.
