On February 5, the National Assembly Standing Committee met to consider and give opinions on the dismissal of Mr. Tran Tuan Anh, a member of the National Assembly Delegation of Khanh Hoa province, constituency No. 1 of Khanh Hoa province, from his duties as a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.
Mr. Tran Tuan Anh ceased to be a delegate of the 15th National Assembly .
Resolution No. 972 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the dismissal of Mr. Tran Tuan Anh from his duties as a National Assembly deputy has also been issued.
Previously, on January 30, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh submitted a resignation letter as a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.
On January 30, the 13th Central Executive Committee met and agreed to let Mr. Tran Tuan Anh resign from his position as Politburo member and 13th Central Committee member.
Mr. Tran Tuan Anh is a senior official of the Party and State, with basic training, trusted by the Party Central Committee and the Politburo to hold a number of important leadership positions.
As Secretary of the Party Committee and Minister of Industry and Trade for the 2016-2021 term, he has made many efforts in directing and operating the work of the industry and trade sector, achieving important results.
However, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh bears the political responsibility of the leader when many violations occurred at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, many cadres and party members violated the law, were prosecuted criminally, and were subject to party and administrative disciplinary action. Fully aware of his responsibility to the Party and the people, he submitted a request to resign from his assigned positions, quit his job and retire.
Mr. Tran Tuan Anh was born on April 6, 1964; hometown is Pho Khanh commune, Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai; PhD in economics, bachelor of diplomacy.
He is a member of the 13th Politburo; a member of the 12th and 13th Party Central Committee; and a National Assembly delegate for the 14th and 15th terms.
Before being assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Head of the Central Economic Commission from February 2021 to present, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh was the Minister of Industry and Trade.
