According to Fox News, on July 28, US President Donald Trump announced that Russia must end the conflict with Ukraine within 10 to 12 days, instead of the 50-day "deadline" he previously set.
"I'm going to set a new deadline, about 10 or 12 days from today. There's no reason to wait," Mr. Trump stressed.

Following Mr. Trump's statement, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that "every new ultimatum is a threat."
"President Trump is playing the ultimatum game with Russia: 50 days, then 10 days... He should remember two things: First, Russia is not Israel or even Iran. Second, every new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards conflict (Russia - US). Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country," Medvedev wrote in a post on the X network on July 28.
Previously, on July 14, President Trump announced that he would impose "secondary" tariffs of up to 100% on Russia's trading partners if President Vladimir Putin did not agree to an agreement to end the conflict in Ukraine within 50 days.
President Trump’s secondary tariffs would apply to countries and entities that buy Russian exports. However, Mr. Trump did not specify which products would be subject to the secondary tariffs.
