In an interview with the TV show "Full Measure" on September 22, former President Trump told host Sharyl Attkisson that he has no plans to run for the White House again if he loses to Vice President Harris this year.
After winning the 2016 presidential election, Mr. Trump ran for re-election but lost to his opponent Joe Biden in 2020. He returned to the race in 2024 and received encouraging results despite legal troubles while the Democratic presidential candidate was Mr. Biden.
By July, when President Biden withdrew from the race and endorsed Vice President Harris for the nomination.
According to a poll by The Hill/Decision Desk HQ , Ms. Harris has a 55% chance of winning on November 5. Meanwhile, a nationwide poll by NBC News released on September 22 showed Ms. Harris receiving 49% of the vote, compared to 44% for Mr. Trump.
A CBS News /YouGov poll released the same day also showed Democratic presidential candidate Harris improving her lead over Trump in battleground states. However, the race once again reflects a tight race.
The battleground states surveyed were Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
