On November 16, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Vo Van Minh attended the National Great Unity Day with hundreds of people from Chanh Loc 7 neighborhood, Thu Dau Mot ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

Earlier, in the afternoon of the same day, on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, Mr. Vo Van Minh and representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training visited the family of teacher Nguyen Duc Danh, 91 years old, residing in Thu Dau Mot ward, former Director of the Department of Education and Training of Song Be province.

Attending the National Great Unity Day at Chanh Loc 7 neighborhood, Thu Dau Mot ward, Mr. Vo Van Minh, on behalf of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, presented trees to Chanh Loc 7 neighborhood and gifts to households in difficult circumstances.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online on the sidelines of the festival, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Vo Van Minh said that the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels is being carried out carefully and actively by Ho Chi Minh City. Thereby, perfecting personnel work, realizing the Party's resolutions and the Central's instructions, creating a solid foundation for Ho Chi Minh City to continue to develop.

Previously, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc issued a decision on the establishment of the Election Committee for the 16th National Assembly and Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for the 2026-2031 term.

According to the decision, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Election Committee is Mr. Vo Van Minh - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council. The Vice Chairmen of the Ho Chi Minh City Election Committee include: Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Van Thi Bach Tuyet, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

The Vice Chairmen of the Election Committee also include: Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Mr. Tran Van Tuan; Mr. Huynh Thanh Nhan and Ms. Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong (Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council).

The Ho Chi Minh City Election Committee has members representing departments, agencies, and sectors of Ho Chi Minh City. It is expected that this week, the Election Committee for the 16th National Assembly and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for the 2026-2031 term will continue to hold working meetings to deploy and guide personnel work and organize elections.

Chanh Loc 7 Quarter, Thu Dau Mot Ward currently has 215 households with 1,045 people, but there are only 5 poor households and 1 near-poor household; the people's lives in the quarter have been improved and social security has been ensured.

The models "Green - Clean - Beautiful - Safe Alley", "Civilized Alley", "Community Digital Technology Support Team" are typical bright spots, demonstrating the spirit of innovation and creativity in implementing the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" of the neighborhood.
