Mr. Vu Dai Thang was transferred and appointed to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.

Mr. Vu Dai Thang was mobilized and appointed to join the Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

On the afternoon of November 28, the Hanoi Party Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo 's decision on personnel work.

Attending the conference were Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc; Party Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission Nguyen Quang Duong; leaders of the Central Party Committee, Hanoi City and Quang Ninh Province.

At the conference, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee Nguyen Quang Duong announced the Politburo's decision on personnel work. Accordingly, Mr. Vu Dai Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Ninh province, ceased to participate in the Party Executive Committee, the Provincial Party Standing Committee, ceased to hold the position of Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term; was transferred and appointed to participate in the Party Executive Committee, the City Party Standing Committee, and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee Nguyen Quang Duong added that due to force majeure, health problems and a request from Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, the Politburo decided to transfer him to the position of Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee.

Also at the conference, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc presented the Politburo's decision to Mr. Vu Dai Thang.

On behalf of the Politburo, congratulating and assigning tasks to Mr. Vu Dai Thang, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc said that Mr. Vu Dai Thang is a well-trained cadre, has held many positions at the central and local levels, has capacity and experience in State management, Party building, has innovative thinking, scientific working methods, is determined, close to the grassroots, dares to think, dares to do, dares to take responsibility, always completes assigned tasks well, making important contributions to the overall achievements and results of the locality, agency and unit.

Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc emphasized: The Politburo's assignment of a new responsibility shows its trust and recognition for comrade Vu Dai Thang. The Politburo believes that with his experience, capacity and strengths, Mr. Vu Dai Thang will excellently complete the assigned tasks.

The Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee requested that officials in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, leaders at all levels and sectors in the city continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, unity, support and companionship so that Mr. Vu Dai Thang can successfully complete his assigned tasks.

In his acceptance speech, the new Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Vu Dai Thang, expressed his gratitude to the Politburo for its trust and assignment of the new responsibility and hoped to receive the attention, support, leadership and direction of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the National Assembly, the Government, the Prime Minister, and central agencies, departments, ministries and branches.

Emphasizing that accepting the new responsibility and position is an honor, but also a great responsibility to the cadres, government and people of the capital, the new Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Vu Dai Thang, affirmed that he will accept the task with the highest responsibility, with an open-minded, humble attitude, ready to learn, and devote all his heart and strength to the cause of building and developing the capital Hanoi to become increasingly civilized, modern and rich in identity.

Mr. Vu Dai Thang, born in 1975, qualifications: Master of International Relations (WASEDA University, Japan), Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Law; Senior in Political Theory.

Mr. Vu Dai Thang used to hold the position of Director of the Department of Economic Zones Management, Ministry of Planning and Investment; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Nam province, term 2010-2015.

In 2016, he was elected as an alternate member of the 12th Party Central Committee.

In March 2018, Mr. Vu Dai Thang was appointed by the Prime Minister as Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment.

In August 2020, Mr. Vu Dai Thang was assigned by the Politburo to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, holding the position of Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee, term 2015-2020.

In October 2024, he was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

In November 2025, Mr. Vu Dai Thang was mobilized and appointed by the Politburo to join the Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term./.
