Today, in a joyful and excited atmosphere, the Truth National Political Publishing House solemnly organizes the 80th Anniversary of its Traditional Day (December 5, 1945 - December 5, 2025). On behalf of the Party Committee, leaders, cadres, party members, civil servants and employees of the Publishing House, I would like to send to the leaders, former leaders of the Party and State, leaders of the Central Committees, ministries and branches, delegates, distinguished guests and all comrades my sincere greetings and wishes for health, happiness and success.
Recently, comrades watched a nearly 30-minute documentary about 80 years of building and developing the Truth National Political Publishing House. Through that, it can be seen that our Party decided to establish Truth Publishing House (the predecessor of today's Truth National Political Publishing House) - the Party's political publishing agency on December 5, 1945, under the direct leadership and direction of General Secretary Truong Chinh. After 80 years of building and developing, with the function of being the theoretical and political publishing agency of the Party and State, under the direct and regular leadership of the Secretariat, Truth National Political Publishing House has constantly strived to excellently complete all tasks assigned by the Party, State and People, achieving achievements of historical significance. The Publishing House's publications play an important role in educating , opening up knowledge, enlightening the people's thoughts and are sharp political and ideological weapons in condemning colonialism and imperialism; propagating Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought, the Party's guidelines, arousing patriotism, building the great national unity bloc, combining spiritual strength with the strength of the times, encouraging and motivating the entire people to participate in the revolutionary cause, fighting for national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.
During the resistance war against the French colonialists, operating in the Viet Bac resistance base with countless difficulties and hardships, the staff of the Publishing House did not fear danger, closely following the reality of the resistance war to promptly publish valuable revolutionary documents and works to guide ideology and encourage the entire people to participate in the resistance war. From the first book published, the Communist Party Manifesto, along with theoretical and political works, it aroused the belief, ideals and will to fight for independence and freedom of our people. Each book published during that period was not only the crystallization of intelligence and patriotism, but also a vivid demonstration of the power of culture and ideology in the cause of national liberation.
After the Dien Bien Phu victory, the North entered the transitional period to socialism, and the Publishing House was assigned new tasks. This was also a period that marked the remarkable growth of the Publishing House, demonstrated through the organization of compilation, translation and publication of many classic books of large scale and fundamental theoretical value such as: Selected Works of Karl Marx - Friedrich Engels , Complete Works of VI Lenin and important theoretical and political publications, contributing to the construction of socialism in the North and the struggle to liberate the South and unify the country.
When the country is unified, the Publishing House continues to demonstrate its important role in the Party's ideological and cultural work, as well as its core role in providing knowledge, innovating theoretical thinking, widely propagating the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, motivating cadres, party members and people to promote socio-economic development, maintain national defense and security, actively integrate into the international community, affirming the role, position and prestige of the country in the region and the world.
Many books of the Truth National Political Publishing House demonstrate the heights of theoretical thinking on strategic issues of the country, vividly reflecting the rich reality that is taking place, creating a strong influence among cadres, party members and the masses; becoming handbooks for cadres and party members in various sectors and fields and creating large-scale political activities throughout the country.
Tens of thousands of books have been published, meeting the needs of studying, researching, improving the level and political awareness of cadres, party members and people. The publications of the Truth National Political Publishing House are not only documents serving propaganda and education work, but also a source of standard knowledge, contributing to the formation of a revolutionary worldview, outlook on life, and fostering the qualities, capacity and political mettle of Vietnamese people in revolutionary periods. Many publications of the Publishing House have become special cultural heritages, depicting the image of leaders, important historical events, and Vietnamese ethical and humanistic values. Through each book, the Publishing House has contributed to the formation and dissemination of Vietnamese political and cultural identity - steadfast in ideals, humanistic, modern, and imbued with national cultural identity.
In his congratulatory letter to the Truth National Political Publishing House on the occasion of its 80th anniversary, General Secretary To Lam assessed that “After 80 years of establishment and development, the Truth National Political Publishing House has affirmed and promoted its worthy role as a theoretical and political publishing agency of the Party and State. The series of books published by the Publishing House have made an important contribution to the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland, serving the cause of comprehensive national renewal. Many publications have profound theoretical and practical significance, contributing to improving the leadership and governing capacity of the Party, building a clean and strong political system, fostering political ideology for cadres, party members and people, effectively serving foreign information work, introducing the image of a peaceful, innovative, integrated and developing Vietnam... Those results are vivid evidence of the sense of responsibility, loyalty to the Fatherland, the Party, the People and revolutionary ideals; at the same time, it is the inheritance and promotion of the precious tradition of the theoretical and political publishing agency with an important position and role in the political and spiritual life of society".
Responding to the requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, in recent years, the Publishing House has proactively promoted digital transformation, applied modern technologies in management and publishing, developed electronic publishing, and digital publishing. The work of introducing and promoting books has been promoted, along with the construction of many electronic bookcases and electronic libraries for readers to read for free to spread the value of theoretical and political knowledge; cadres, party members and people can access conveniently on many different digital platforms. In addition, bookcases, libraries at the grassroots level, political - social libraries, and legal bookcases have been formed in many localities and units, contributing to enriching spiritual life and improving people's knowledge, making an important contribution to building cultural life and developing reading culture.
It can be said that over the past 80 years, the Truth National Political Publishing House has not only made its mark in the history of Vietnam's revolutionary publishing, but has also become an inseparable part of the ideological history of the Party and the nation, making an important contribution to building the ideological and theoretical foundation, shaping the system of spiritual values and strengthening social trust in the path of national development that the Party, Uncle Ho and our people have chosen.
With its great contributions to the revolutionary cause, the Truth National Political Publishing House was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by President Ho Chi Minh, and many noble awards by the Party and the State: the Gold Star Medal, 2 Ho Chi Minh Medals and the title of Labor Hero. This is a source of pride and at the same time a worthy recognition of the persistent and silent contributions over the past eight decades of generations of Publishing House staff.
On behalf of the Publishing House's leadership, I would like to express my deep gratitude and appreciation for the leadership and direction of the Party and State leaders, the effective coordination, support and assistance of departments, ministries, branches and localities, agencies and units; the attachment of scientists, collaborators, partners and readers; especially the persistent dedication of generations of cadres, civil servants and employees of the Publishing House who have made the Publishing House's achievements over the past 80 years.
Entering a new era of development - the era of national growth, the task of the Publishing House in the coming time is very heavy. The Truth National Political Publishing House hopes to continue to receive the attention of Party and State leaders, the coordination, support and assistance of departments, ministries, branches and localities, agencies, units, scientists, experts, collaborators, partners and readers. The Publishing House will continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, innovation, creativity, dedication, and strive to excellently complete all assigned tasks, especially the directions and instructions of General Secretary To Lam in the congratulatory letter to the Truth National Political Publishing House on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of its tradition and the directions and instructions of the Party and State leaders for the Publishing House, worthy of the trust and expectations of the Party, State and People, as well as worthy of the sweat, effort and intelligence of generations of cadres, civil servants and workers who have built the Truth National Political Publishing House over the past 80 years.
