Promoting the role of the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations at all levels to both participate and help each subject receiving housing support, closely inspect and supervise, ensuring quality for long-term use of houses.

The commune-level steering committee, party cell secretary, hamlet and quarter chief, Women's Union, Veterans Association, Farmers' Association, and Youth Union strengthen their roles and responsibilities and provide timely support to reduce costs and improve the quality of the houses.

In Phu My commune, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area was implemented urgently and promptly. The program created a great spread, received consensus and joint efforts from political and social organizations, localities, businesses and people.

The commune's forces have just been mobilized to support people in building foundations to build new houses under the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses at the household of Mr. Le Hoang Anh, 48 years old, a near-poor household in Vam Xang hamlet. Mr. Hoang Anh's family has no land for production. His wife is sick and unable to work, and he has elderly parents to take care of, so he works alone to support his family.

The house is worth 60 million VND, of which Phu My commune mobilized philanthropists in Ho Chi Minh City to support 50 million VND, the remaining amount was contributed by the family. Mr. Hoang Anh shared: "Receiving support to build the house, I am very happy and promise to try to do business, to escape from near-poverty". At the launching ceremony to build the house for Mr. Hoang Anh, there were more than 20 participants, including young people, women, farmers, veterans, militia, government leaders and local people.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Thong, Vice Chairman of Phu My Commune People's Committee, said: "Implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and leaky houses, through screening, the whole commune has 10 households with housing difficulties that need support. Up to now, the commune has completed and put 8 houses into use."

Tan Hung Tay Commune has also just launched a campaign to support people in building foundations to build new houses under the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses at the household of Mr. Nguyen Van Gil, 35 years old, a poor household in Quang Phu Hamlet. The family has no land for production, he alone has to work for hire to support the family, his wife stays home to take care of 3 young children.

The house is worth nearly 80 million VND, of which the State invested 60 million VND from the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Mr. Gil confided: “Previously, the old house was dilapidated but the family did not have money to rebuild it, so we had to buy rubber to cover it to prevent leaks. Now that I have received support, I no longer have pressure about housing, and I will try to do business to escape poverty.”

Mr. Luong Minh Truong, Vice Chairman of Tan Hung Tay Commune People's Committee, said: "The whole commune has 23 households with housing difficulties that need support. Up to now, the commune has completed and put into use 7 houses and is currently constructing 12 houses; striving to complete in April. The commune also mobilized volunteer units to have more gifts for families on the handover day."

In order for the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses to continue to spread, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Phu Tan district and district-level socio-political organizations have stepped up propaganda and mobilized union members, association members and people of all walks of life about the importance of the movement, actively responded to and supported the program.
