(TN&MT) - On the afternoon of December 10, at the conference center, the People's Committee of Lao Cai province held a conference to implement the Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee and the Resolution of the People's Council of Lao Cai province on the socio -economic development plan, public investment, and state budget estimates for 2025 with the goal of striving to achieve a budget revenue of 15,500 billion VND.
The conference is held in a combination of in-person and online formats.
Attending the conference were Mr. Dang Xuan Phong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Vu Xuan Cuong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Council; Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee and leaders of relevant departments, branches and districts, towns, cities, communes and wards participating directly and online at the bridge points.
In 2024, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee has resolutely implemented synchronous solutions to implement socio-economic development goals in conditions with many difficulties, challenges and advantages intertwined, but above all, with the highest sense of responsibility and determination, with the drastic participation of the entire political system, Lao Cai province has achieved important results, many indicators increased compared to the same period such as economic growth GRDP in 2024 is estimated at 7.38%, 2.2 percentage points higher than the increase in 2023, higher than the general growth rate of the whole country (about 7%) . The economic scale is estimated at 77,223 billion VND, an increase of 11.8% compared to 2023, ranking 44/63 provinces and cities. GRDP per capita reached 97.5 million VND/person/year, an increase of 8.9 million VND/person/year compared to 2023...
The socio-economic development plan, public investment and state budget estimates for 2025 were approved by the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee in Resolution No. 55-NQ/TU and the Lao Cai Provincial People's Council in Resolutions No. 86, 89, 90 dated December 6, 2024. Implementing the Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee and the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 3268/QD-UBND dated December 10, 2024.
Accordingly, in 2025, Lao Cai aims to complete 25 groups of targets assigned by the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Council. Specifically, Lao Cai strives for an economic growth rate (GRDP) of over 10%; state budget revenue in the area of 15,500 billion VND; average GRDP per capita of 126 million VND/year; total number of tourists of over 10 million; tourism revenue of over 44,500 billion VND; industrial production value of 60,000 billion VND; total import-export value through border gates of 9 billion USD...
Speaking at the conference, Lao Cai Provincial Party Secretary Dang Xuan Phong also pointed out the difficulties, advantages, and opportunities for socio-economic development of the province in the coming time. To achieve the set goals, Lao Cai Provincial Party Secretary Dang Xuan Phong requested that departments, branches, and localities effectively implement the "5 pushes, 5 pulls" solution. These are: promoting innovation in leadership and management; promoting economic growth; promoting discipline, order, and anti-waste; promoting streamlining the apparatus; promoting digital transformation. The "5 pulls" are: reducing institutional bottlenecks; reducing delays in administrative reform; reducing slow site clearance; reducing shirking of responsibility; reducing poor households and the need for social housing...
At the conference, delegates frankly discussed and gave opinions on important issues and practical and feasible solutions in 2025 to promote advantages and mobilize all resources for socio-economic development.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Truong stated that the assigned targets for 2025 are quite high. Therefore, to ensure the completion of the Congress's goals, from the first days of 2025, all levels and sectors must immediately take action, seize opportunities, overcome difficulties to complete the goals of 2025.
In the immediate future, sectors and localities need to focus on implementing the planned targets that have not yet been achieved, focusing on two main targets: Target on state budget revenue in the area and Target on disbursement of capital for basic construction investment. Districts and investors must accelerate implementation according to the committed capital disbursement.
Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Truong requested all sectors and levels to continue to focus on overcoming the damage caused by natural disasters (storm No. 3). In particular, focusing on supporting the renovation and repair of houses to soon stabilize people's lives. At the same time, preparing contents and conditions, especially implementing social security work to ensure that people can celebrate the Lunar New Year 2025 with joy and excitement.
