According to the report at the working session, after 8 months of piloting the operation of the Ban Gioc waterfall landscape area (Vietnam) - Duc Thien (China), the number of tourists from both sides traveling back and forth for sightseeing has been maintained, the total number of tourists from both sides from September 15, 2023 to May 13, 2024 is 8,458, of which tourists from Vietnam to China are 4,323; tourists from China to Vietnam are 4,135. Security and order work; immigration inspection and control at the border opening of Ban Gioc (Vietnam) - Duc Thien (China) are carried out by the Border Guard, Customs, and Quarantine forces in accordance with regulations, creating favorable conditions for tourists from both sides to travel to the landscape area. The activities of transporting tourists back and forth to the landscape area are coordinated quite smoothly, complying with the laws of both sides.

Cao Bang province has been proactive in holding talks at all levels with the Chinese side to frankly and realistically assess and assess the pilot implementation of the tourist crossing of the Ban Gioc waterfall landscape area (Vietnam) - Duc Thien (China). Completing the infrastructure in the landscape area, so far the area at the foot of the waterfall and the area of landmark 834/1-835 have been cleared; many tents, warehouses, temporary toilets, and spontaneous parking lots have been removed; a number of constructions have been completed and renovated; investment has been made in bypass road 206 with a total length of 24.5km connecting from Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district to Ly Van border gate. The project has been completed and put into use since 2023, reducing the number of container trucks and trucks carrying goods going to Ly Van border gate and not entering the Ban Gioc waterfall tourist center.
Currently, Cao Bang province is investing in the construction of 3 projects in the landscape area with a capital of 3,218 billion VND for investment by the Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Management Board, investing in items such as: Temporary service area and auxiliary items, Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Area; temporary construction of the Standing Office of the Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Management Board; temporary service area and auxiliary items in the Ban Gioc control station area. For the projects expected to be constructed, the province has submitted to the Government and central ministries and branches to support central budget capital for Cao Bang province to invest in infrastructure of Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Area.
Cao Bang province recommends that competent authorities pay attention to allocating capital to support the province in investing and developing tourism infrastructure to serve the operation of Ban Gioc Waterfall Landscape Area; promptly approve the "Project on special policies and mechanisms for Ban Gioc Waterfall Landscape Area", ensuring minimum conditions for the official operation of the projects being implemented by the province. Ministries and branches should study and develop solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles; support the introduction and call for strategic investors interested in investing in tourism development at the landscape area; discuss and promote the Chinese side to implement foreign procedures and processes related to the official operation.

Appreciating the efforts and acknowledging the legitimate and practical recommendations of Cao Bang province, Mr. Thai Xuan Dung, Deputy Head of the National Border Committee, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that he will continue to accompany, support and help the province to remove difficulties and obstacles, achieving positive results after 1 year of piloting the operation for tourists to travel between Ban Gioc Waterfall Scenic Area (Vietnam) - Detian (China). This will be the beginning of high-level, high-level cooperation between Vietnam and China; continue to cooperate in developing green tourism across the border, promote economic and trade development, cultural exchange, and increasingly better meet the needs of the people of the two countries.

He also assigned specific tasks to relevant departments, branches, units and localities. In the coming time, continue to improve tourism products, strengthen negotiations with the Chinese side, strive to officially put into operation the Ban Gioc waterfall landscape area (Vietnam) - Duc Thien (China) as planned, aiming to build the landscape area into a model of cross-border tourism and green tourism, promoting understanding, friendly exchanges and substantive cooperation between localities of Vietnam and China.
