Phan Thiet: Tighten management, stabilize production and consumption of agricultural, forestry and fishery products

Faced with market fluctuations and challenges in agricultural, forestry and fishery production and consumption, the People's Committee of Phan Thiet City has requested agencies, units and localities to synchronously deploy many solutions to maintain stable production and market in the area.

According to the direction of the Chairman of the City People's Committee, the People's Committees of wards and communes shall base on the general plan and the actual situation in the locality to develop specific production and consumption plans close to reality. At the same time, strengthen guidance for cooperatives, cooperative groups and farming households to organize production in line with market demand, regularly update information on prices and new policies.

Relevant departments and offices, especially the Department of Economy , Infrastructure and Urban Affairs, closely coordinate in disseminating policies and market developments to each citizen and business to enhance proactive adaptation capacity.

Regarding inspection and supervision, the city directed localities to step up propaganda and mobilize people not to use banned substances in the production and preservation of agricultural products. At the same time, promptly detect and report violations for strict handling. Police in communes and wards strengthen their grasp of the local situation, thoroughly handle acts of speculation, hoarding, price manipulation and trading of counterfeit and poor quality goods, especially agricultural supplies.

Market Management Team No. 1 strengthens market inspection and control, strictly handles violations in trading and trading of goods of unknown origin and goods that infringe intellectual property. In particular, it focuses on monitoring the listing and sale of essential agricultural products at the correct price, preventing price gouging of farmers.

The City Department of Agriculture and Environment is the focal agency in charge of advising the City People's Committee to direct and manage the production and consumption of agricultural, forestry and fishery products. At the same time, it coordinates with provincial departments such as the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Department of Industry and Trade to update information on market developments, technical barriers, and tariff policies of export markets to promptly orient production for businesses, cooperatives and farmers.
