On August 13, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee chaired and coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry, the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Association, Vietnam Television, the Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency , and Nhan Dan Newspaper to organize a national launching ceremony of the Program to support the Cuban people with the theme "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba friendship".

The national launching ceremony was connected online with 34 locations nationwide.

The national launching ceremony of the Campaign to Support the Cuban People with the theme “65 Years of Vietnam-Cuba Friendship” kicks off 65 days of campaigning (August 13 – October 16, 2025) to support the Cuban people. This is a meaningful activity in the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year 2025, commemorating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (December 2, 1960 – December 2, 2025).

The program aims to mobilize at least 65 billion VND to support the Cuban people with medical supplies, necessities and sustainable development cooperation, helping to overcome difficulties caused by the pandemic, natural disasters and embargo. This is a humanitarian activity of profound significance, demonstrating the loyalty and attachment of the Vietnamese people to Cuba - a friend who always stands by them in difficult times. The program is a vivid testament to the exemplary, loyal and steadfast relationship between Vietnam and Cuba, continuing the spirit of the immortal saying of leader Fidel Castro: "For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to sacrifice its blood".

During the Program, all organizations and individuals can participate in supporting in many forms: donating at agencies, units, schools, communities; supporting via banks, QR codes, mobile applications; participating in creative movements such as writing letters, "small plans" to support Cuban children... All contributions will be received, managed transparently and transferred to the Cuban people in 2025.
