Attending the festival were comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors; leaders of districts, towns and cities; teachers and students of the school.
Since 2021, Lao Cai province has organized the "Reading Culture Ambassador" contest to arouse the passion for reading among all classes of people, especially the young generation. In 2024, the contest attracted the participation of nearly 44,000 students from 303 schools in the province; creating an intellectual and healthy playground for students, contributing to inspiring reading, developing a reading culture from the individual to the family and community.
In order to continue spreading the reading culture, Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested all levels, sectors and localities to step up propaganda, raise awareness of all classes of people about the role and significance of books and reading; strengthen the construction of reading spaces; promote digital transformation... At the same time, raise awareness of reading of each individual; encourage and support creative activities, composition, publication and dissemination of cultural publications, publishing books about Lao Cai history and culture.
At the launching ceremony, the units donated books to the Department of Education and Training; awarded prizes to schools that won the book stacking contest. Students had the opportunity to interact and share about the meaning of reading, how to choose books and spread the reading culture in the community.
