At a press conference on the 2025 high school graduation exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training on the evening of June 27, Major General Tran Dinh Chung - Deputy Director of the Internal Political Security Department, Ministry of Public Security - provided information on suspected exam leak and high-tech exam cheating.

Regarding the leaked math exam questions, Major General Tran Dinh Chung said: "Immediately after receiving the information, we took the lead in investigating and verifying the matter."

He also stated that three cases of candidates using AI to "solve problems" during the math exam were identified.

Accordingly, these three candidates brought their phones into the exam room, took pictures of part of the exam questions, and then used AI to solve the questions during the exam.

Regarding the violation in Lam Dong , Mr. Chung said that the candidate used a camera attached to their sleeve to have someone outside the examination hall solve the exam questions for them. To date, the police have identified the candidate, and they have admitted to the wrongdoing. "We will consolidate the files and documents, and based on the nature and severity of the violation, we will handle the case accordingly," he said.

Major General Tran Dinh Chung stated that this year, fewer exam violations were detected, and they were on a small scale. He affirmed that there was no information about leaked exam questions during the exam period. The fact that three candidates used AI to solve the exam questions did not result in any exam questions being leaked.

"In the future, the use of AI for cheating will likely become even more sophisticated. Therefore, authorities need to apply more advanced technology to prevent exam cheating. Most importantly, it is necessary to educate students to avoid such violations," Mr. Chung said.
