Meanwhile, in the opposite direction, Vietnam is Argentina's 7th largest trading partner in the world and number one in Southeast Asia. In 2023, Vietnam - Argentina trade turnover will reach nearly 3.5 billion USD, of which Vietnam's exports to Argentina will reach 976 million USD, up 14.6% compared to 2022, of which imports from Argentina will reach 2.5 billion USD, down 38.9%, due to the main items Vietnam imports from Argentina including soybean meal used to produce animal feed and corn, which have decreased sharply due to crop failure. Referring to trade exchanges between Vietnam and Cordoba province, Ambassador Ngo Minh Nguyet affirmed that Cordoba plays an important role in the cooperation structure between the two countries because this locality provides more than 25% of the value of goods in Argentina's total export turnover to Vietnam, and there is still much room to continue developing cooperation.
