Continuing the activities of solidarity, in 2024 and the first months of 2025, the Association of War Veterans of Go Cong Dong district surveyed and made a list of 3 members with housing difficulties; mobilized the construction of 2 houses meeting the "3 hard" standards for members of Binh Nghi commune.

At the same time, the Association also coordinated to support the construction of “War Veterans’ Gratitude” houses for 2 members, with a total cost of 100 million VND. This is not only material support but also a source of encouragement for members in difficult circumstances.
According to Chairman of the Go Cong Dong District Veterans Association Nguyen Van Vui, the district currently has 1,556 members, of which the proportion of members with a good or rich standard of living accounts for 27.25%. The Association continues to maintain and strengthen a High-Quality Rice Production Club in Binh Nghi Commune with 5 members. Cooperatives and economic development models with veterans as the core are effectively maintained, such as raising goats, cows, raising aquatic products and processing seafood, etc.
In particular, the Association established the District Association of Enterprises and War Veterans with 18 members; launched the Professional Association of "Processing dried fish" in Lang 2 quarter, Vam Lang town, attracting 6 members to participate.
Through the entrustment from the Social Policy Bank, by May 2025, the Go Cong Dong District Veterans Association had a total outstanding debt of more than 48 billion VND, overdue debt accounted for only 0.12%, showing the effectiveness in managing loans and good debt repayment awareness of members and veterans of the district.
In addition, the Association also mobilizes funds to visit members and war veterans with serious illnesses; organizes many activities to care for members and war veterans in difficult circumstances such as giving gifts; coordinates to organize the "0 VND" Market...
It is noteworthy that the District Veterans Association has introduced stable jobs for 36 children of veterans and former soldiers, reaching 90% of the plan; at the same time, coordinated to organize training courses on environmental protection, savings and loans for members and veterans.
CONTRIBUTE TO BUILDING HOMELAND
Chairman of the Go Cong Dong District Veterans Association Nguyen Van Vui said that not only promoting effectiveness in helping each other develop the economy and reduce poverty, the District Veterans Association is also a core force in the movement to build new rural areas, protect the environment and maintain security and order in the locality.
The Association has coordinated to propagate and mobilize cadres, members, war veterans and people to effectively implement the criteria for building advanced new rural areas, model new rural areas and civilized urban areas. As a result, up to now, the whole Go Cong Dong district has 6/6 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, 1 commune meeting model new rural standards, 2 urban areas meeting civilized standards. Go Cong Dong district has also met 9/9 criteria for advanced new rural areas and launched a new rural district on March 15, 2025.
Along with that, the District Veterans Association also actively participates in disease prevention and control movements, ensures security and order, and mobilizes people to maintain environmental hygiene and dispose of garbage in designated places. In particular, the Association has organized 9 mobile propaganda campaigns on crime prevention, social evils, traffic safety, etc.
The District Veterans Association promotes political and ideological education, disseminates directives and resolutions of the Party, policies and laws of the State to cadres, members, veterans and people. In particular, the program "1 increase, 4 reductions" includes strengthening the dissemination of laws, reducing poverty, reducing environmental pollution, reducing epidemics and social evils, ensuring security and order in the locality.
To promote the effectiveness of community models, the Association of War Veterans in Go Cong Dong district has coordinated to maintain and improve the quality of 13/13 "Skilled Civil Affairs" projects, 95/95 Environmental Protection Clubs in hamlets and neighborhoods; built flower roads, kept canals and rice fields clear, free of garbage and water hyacinth causing blockages in the flow...
With the motto "Solidarity - Exemplary - Innovation - Affection", the Go Cong Dong District War Veterans Association has been affirming its role as a solid support for the local Party Committee, government and people. The achievements of the District War Veterans Association not only contribute to improving the lives of members and war veterans, consolidating the Association's organization but also actively contributing to the socio-economic development, building the homeland of Go Cong Dong increasingly rich and civilized.
