Promoting the role of the Veterans Association in protecting the Party's ideological foundation

Fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints and protecting the Party's ideological foundation is the responsibility of the entire Party, army and people, in which the role of the Vietnam Veterans Association is indispensable.

Based on its role and mission, the Vietnam Veterans Association always attaches importance to political , ideological, ethical and revolutionary lifestyle education for cadres and members; fights against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, participates in building an increasingly clean and strong Party and government...

Protecting the Party's ideological foundation and effectively fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints is an important, regular and long-term task of the entire Party, people and army, in which the Veterans Association plays an indispensable role. Since its establishment (December 1989) up to now, the Vietnam Veterans Association has continuously developed and grown, always being an absolutely loyal and trustworthy revolutionary force of the Party, State and people; contributing increasingly effectively to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The Association always attaches importance to political, ideological, ethical and revolutionary lifestyle education for cadres and members. Promote the role of the core force, especially at the grassroots level, in propaganda work, grasp public opinion; focus on providing current information; refute false information, update the activities and plots of hostile forces so that cadres, party members, members and people have a multi-dimensional view, more deeply identify plots and sabotage tricks, especially on the internet and social networks, thereby raising responsibility, vigilance, proactively fighting against sabotage tricks of hostile forces, contributing to maintaining the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation.

In particular, the Association at all levels has focused strongly on fostering political theory, paying attention to thoroughly grasping the Party's policies and viewpoints on Party building as well as the directives and resolutions of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat on protecting the Party's ideological foundation... This ensures that members are always steadfast in the Party's ideological foundation and ready to face and overcome all challenges.

Thanks to that, members and veterans quickly approach current issues, orient their thinking firmly in the face of complex changes, remain absolutely loyal to the revolutionary cause, believe in the path of innovation and the leadership of the Party. The Association also promptly discovers, proposes solutions and actively participates in resolving complicated and prominent cases, resolutely fights against wrong views, manifestations of corruption and bureaucracy at the grassroots level; coordinates with social organizations to mobilize people to carry out the movement "All people protect national security", contributing to resolving social conflicts right at the local level...

However, in the coming time, when the country enters a new era, an era of national growth, the sabotage of hostile forces will become increasingly sophisticated, cunning and dangerous, requiring Veterans Associations at all levels to continue to have correct and timely solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation.

Accordingly, the Association at all levels needs to strengthen its grasp of the thoughts and aspirations of cadres and members in the process of carrying out political tasks; proactively and promptly participate in resolving issues of distortion and sabotage from afar, early on, not allowing them to spread among the masses... Regularly organize study sessions, talks, and discussions to help improve understanding and awareness of law compliance among cadres, members and the community. In particular, it is necessary to take advantage of social networks to write articles, share, and spread positive information, promptly refute false information and provide accurate information to members and the masses.

Doing this work well will significantly contribute to helping cadres, members and people promptly identify the plots, tricks and methods of operation of hostile forces; refute wrong viewpoints, and raise awareness and actions in protecting the Party's ideological foundation.

It can be affirmed that the Veterans Association at all levels is a gathering of members with rich mettle and experience through practical combat and work. They are living examples that convey historical values, national pride and arouse patriotism among all classes of people. Therefore, the Association at all levels needs to continue to promote its role in mobilizing cadres, members and people to strictly comply with all policies and guidelines of the Party and the State as well as of their place of residence, avoiding being exploited and incited by hostile forces; mobilizing cadres, members and people, especially the young generation, to participate in the fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, contributing to firmly protecting the Party's ideological foundation, meeting the requirements of tasks in the current situation, contributing to bringing the country firmly into the era of national development.
