As the core force, the Party Committee and the Military Command of the city have closely followed their functions and tasks, done a good job of advising the City Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee, directing, guiding and organizing the construction of increasingly solid city KVPT, meeting the requirements of the task of protecting the Fatherland early and from afar.

Hue City has 87km of western border with Laos, 120km of coastline, is a locality located in the key economic zone of the Central region, has a favorable geographical location and potential for socio -economic development and international integration, and has an important strategic position in terms of national defense and security (QP, AN).

Deeply aware of the strategic position and role of the KVPT in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, the Party Committee and the City Military Command have thoroughly grasped the viewpoints and policies of the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense , promoting the core role, advising local Party committees and authorities to build an increasingly solid KVPT. In particular, focusing on building the battle position, building potential and building forces, the key is to build and strongly promote the "people's hearts" position; completing the target of building a city-level tunnel; 1 district-level tunnel, a permanent militia combat post on the western border and continuing to carry out a number of key projects to ensure the tasks of national defense and security.

The Party Committee and the City Military Command have closely followed the direction of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the Standing Committee of the Military Region Party Committee, the City Party Committee, and the City People's Committee to resolutely and synchronously implement Resolution No. 05 of the Politburo, Resolution No. 230 of the Central Military Commission, and the Project on reorganizing local military agencies when implementing a two-level local government. This is the basis and premise for building a strong, compact, and strong city military force to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation. Along with that, the organization moved the command post from Mang Ca area to the new station, this is a historic move, demonstrating the attention of the Central Government, the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 4, and local Party Committees and authorities; thereby, together with the entire political system, contributing to socio-economic development, associated with strengthening national defense and security, bringing Hue City to the level of a centrally-run city.

The City Military Command focuses on building military potential, building local troops in the direction of "Revolutionary, disciplined, elite, modern". Building military agencies from the city to the grassroots with sufficient capacity to advise local Party committees and authorities on local military and defense tasks and the capacity of State management on defense and security. Continuously innovate and improve the quality of training, exercises, capabilities, and combat readiness for the forces; successfully organize the provincial military drills associated with strategic combat drills on the Central battlefield; successfully coordinate and direct 12 district-level military drills, 168 commune-level combat drills, 15 PCTT - TKCN drills...

In addition, the City Military Command has effectively implemented emulation movements, effectively implemented three national target programs for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas, the movements "Military forces join hands to build new rural areas", "Military forces join hands for the poor - No one is left behind".

In the coming term, the city's armed forces, with the highest political determination, will focus on creating breakthroughs to successfully implement the Resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels. In particular, we will continue to advise on building the city's defense zone to be increasingly solid, building the city's armed forces to be increasingly revolutionary, disciplined, lean, compact, and strong, well meeting the requirements of the task of building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation, worthy of the trust and love of the Party Committee, government, and people of the city.
