Surgery to deliver 6.1kg newborn baby in Ha Tinh

On the evening of September 26, the Obstetrics Department - Ha Tinh General Hospital received a pregnant woman named TTAD (36 years old, Can Loc) with symptoms of abdominal pain and labor.

The mother's family said that this was the mother's fourth pregnancy. During the pregnancy, the mother's health was completely normal.

When the fetus was 40 weeks old, the mother had abdominal pain and was taken to the Provincial General Hospital by her family.

After performing tests and functional examinations, the doctors found that the fetus was quite large, so the mother was advised to have a cesarean section.

Doctor Nguyen Viet Tho - Head of the Obstetrics Department, who directly performed the surgery, said: although before birth, we determined that the fetus had a fairly large weight, the entire surgical team was still very surprised when the baby boy was born weighing up to 6.1 kg.

This is the first case of a mother giving birth to a baby weighing more than 6kg at Ha Tinh General Hospital.

After birth, the baby was cared for and monitored in the hospital's Pediatrics department.
