The Department of Food Safety ( Ministry of Health ) has just issued a document requesting the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City and the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene of Hanoi to urgently inspect and verify production activities, and take samples to test a number of products advertised by "Ngan Collagen".

According to the Food Safety Department, through post-inspection of food product announcement and advertising, the department discovered that some products of N-Collagen Import-Export Company Limited (address at 28 Lot B, Phu Dinh River Port Resettlement Area, Ward 16, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City) advertised by an individual with the nickname "Ngan Collagen" including Apple candy to eliminate belly fat, N-collagen Chanh plus... violated regulations.

The Food Safety Department has checked and reviewed the online public service software, the results show that the department has not yet issued a certificate of acceptance of product declaration registration and a certificate of advertising content for the product named Apple candy to eliminate belly fat and N-collagen Chanh plus.

Through online review, the label images of these two products indicate that the product group is a dietary supplement.

Specifically, the products are required to check the following information:

"Pursuant to the provisions of Articles 4, 5 and 40 of Decree No. 15/2018/ND-CP detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Food Safety, the group of supplementary food products has been decentralized to local management.

Therefore, the Food Safety Department has issued an official dispatch requesting the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety and the Hanoi Department of Food Safety and Hygiene to urgently inspect and verify the production of the above products, and at the same time take samples for testing to determine prohibited substances (if any) for handling according to regulations," the Food Safety Department stated.

Was warned for advertising violations

N-Collagen weight loss support tea has been "upgraded" into a lemon Detox supplement

According to current research on social networking platforms and e-commerce platforms, TikTok account Tran Thi Bich Ngan (Ngan Collagen) regularly posts videos advertising weight loss products.

Among them, two products that stand out are apple candy and lemon peel powder detox, which are advertised to have the effect of purifying, detoxifying, "eliminating" (reducing) belly fat, and reducing body fat. According to the advertisement, all of these products are currently licensed by the Ministry of Health.

Some videos advertised by Ngân Collagen on TikTok about the two products above are: "Take 1-2 pills a day, reduce waist circumference by 1-2cm a week, depending on the body. The longer you use it, the smaller your belly will be. If you combine both products, you can lose 2-5kg".

Besides, currently, Ngan Collagen also sells some types of "Face ginseng" body cream which are widely advertised, have been on the market for 14 years, produced by her own company and advertised as licensed and inspected by the Ministry of Health.

Previously, in March 2022, the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) warned consumers not to rely on false advertising content of the health protection food N-Collagen weight loss support tea to buy and use, because it can cause risks to health and economy.

Ngan 98 weight loss product advertisement: Only 1/3 legal

On May 25, the Department of Food Safety (Ministry of Health) has just sent an official dispatch to the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City and the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene of Hanoi, requesting to urgently inspect, verify the production activities and take samples for testing of a number of weight loss products advertised by DJ Ngan 98 that are causing a stir in public opinion, including the product X1000, weight loss pills X3 (Super Detox X3) and X7 Plus.

According to information from the Food Safety Department, among the above products, only X7 Plus has received a product declaration at the department and no advertising content confirmation certificate has been issued for the above products.

However, through online review, the department discovered that some websites are still selling this product and advertising it in violation of regulations. Advertising the product causes misunderstanding about the product's uses, advertising incorrectly with the product declaration registration certificate, advertising the product as a medicine...

The department has collected sufficient evidence related to this violation.
