On October 29, according to information from the Office of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Mah Tiep has just issued an official dispatch directing the handling of the illegal exploitation of Dak Doa pine forest, Dak Doa commune.
Accordingly, Dak Doa pine forest is located within the Dak Doa golf course project of the investor, FLC Group Joint Stock Company, which has been stalled for many years.
Recently, the situation of thieves breaking in, digging up, and cutting down pine trees in the project area to sell has been common.
Faced with the above situation, the leaders of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested the project investor, FLC Group Joint Stock Company, to fulfill its commitment when implementing the Dak Doa golf course project.
This enterprise must be responsible for managing and taking care of the project's pine trees and promptly implementing solutions to protect the above-mentioned pine forest area.
Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee also directed Dak Doa Commune People's Committee to coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Provincial Police and relevant agencies and units to develop coordination regulations between functional forces in the area; increase patrols and controls in pine forest areas to detect, prevent and promptly handle subjects stealing pine trees and consuming stolen property.
In addition, strengthen propaganda to people, especially ethnic minorities, to strictly comply with legal regulations, not to violate or assist in the theft of pine trees.

As Tuoi Tre Online reported, since 2022, the FLC golf course and resort complex project in Dak Doa district has been temporarily suspended, although there are many pine trees in the 180-hectare area of the project.
Due to lack of care and management, many pine forests have been cut down by thieves, their branches and tops burned on the spot to destroy evidence, and the trunks have been moved elsewhere. Not only are large trees cut down for timber, many beautiful pine trees have their roots stolen and sold as ornamental plants.
It is worth mentioning that with the current legal status, this beautiful pine forest is not forest land, and forest rangers cannot intervene because the land and assets on the land have been handed over to FLC Group for the project.
It is known that out of the 180 hectares of golf course project land, the area of land with pine forest is nearly 160 hectares, mainly 2-leaf and 3-leaf pine, planted since 1976.
