Critic Le Hong Lam
Critic Le Hong Lam, on the occasion of the reprint of the book 101 Best Vietnamese Films (published by The Gioi Publishing House) with revisions and additions of many new cinema faces, shared with young people about his "painstaking" but passionate journey to becoming a film critic. Le Hong Lam said that to become a film critic, one of the important conditions is that the writer must accumulate knowledge, watch a lot, read a lot, have a wide range of knowledge, and at the same time show the writer's own qualities in "criticizing" films.
One of the qualities of a critic is to observe and listen in order to be able to criticize films impartially, because according to him, writers are not always lucky enough to watch good films, and the moments of being "tortured" by bad films also teach them lessons. He also emphasized that being willing to learn is not enough, writers should be calm because they can receive many opposing opinions, even be attacked in the process of nurturing their writing.
