Not tragic, Red Rain realistically depicts a young generation ready to sacrifice and overcome hardships to protect every inch of their homeland. The words of the character Cuong (played by Do Nhat Hoang) "If there is anything, I hope you can advise me further" amidst the bombs and bullets are like a flame that lights up the steadfast spirit of the steadfast soldiers.

The film also recreates the image of solidarity between the North, Central and South in the same squad, reflecting the spirit of “the whole country going to war together” as squad leader Ta (played by Phuong Nam) said. The contrasting scenes between the muddy liberation army and the modern camouflage army further enhance the value of will, belief and noble ideals.
