Vice Chairman of the Nationalities Council Nguyen Lam Thanh received the Venezuelan Ambassador

Congratulating Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juarez on his new term in Vietnam, Vice Chairman of the Nationalities Council Nguyen Lam Thanh believes that the Ambassador will have a successful term, contributing to further promoting the good relationship between Vietnam and Venezuela in general and between the two countries' National Assemblies in particular.

Emphasizing that the Party, State and People of Vietnam are always grateful for and appreciate the solidarity and support that progressive forces and the Venezuelan people have always given to Vietnam during the past years of fighting to protect the Fatherland as well as the current national construction, the Chairman of the Vietnam - Venezuela NSHN Group was pleased to see that the relationship between the two countries has been and continues to be maintained and promoted in all fields, especially in politics and diplomacy through delegation exchanges.

The Chairman of the Vietnam - Venezuela NSHN Group hopes that the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries will increasingly deepen and be more substantive, especially in the context of the two countries heading towards the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (December 18, 1989 - December 18, 2024).

With sincere thanks to the Vice President of the Nationalities Council, President of the Vietnam - Venezuela NSHN Group for taking the time to meet and having kind words about the country and people of Venezuela, the Ambassador affirmed that Venezuela always supports and attaches importance to promoting relations with Vietnam, the relationship between the two countries is substantive and sincere.

The Ambassador also said that despite the difficulties, Venezuela has achieved remarkable economic, political and social achievements. Venezuela's economy has achieved positive growth in the past year and has always led the group of Latin American countries in economic growth in the past two years. The Ambassador emphasized that Vietnam and Venezuela have great potential for cooperation and development, especially in the fields of oil and gas, agriculture, health care and education.

Congratulating Venezuela on its achievements and efforts in economic recovery and political stability, the Chairman of the Vietnam-Venezuela NSHN Group said that the Vietnamese National Assembly advocates promoting parliamentary diplomacy, strengthening and expanding bilateral activities with parliaments of other countries. The Vietnamese National Assembly wishes to further promote bilateral relations as well as closely cooperate with the Venezuelan National Assembly in regional and international inter-parliamentary forums.

The National Assemblies of both countries have established the NSHN Group with the desire to contribute to promoting cooperation and exchange between the two legislative bodies and between parliamentarians. In particular, the Vietnam - Venezuela NSHN Group was established on July 26, 2023, consisting of 8 members from ministries, branches and localities. The two Groups had talks and exchanges in the capital Caracas during the visit to Venezuela of the National Council Delegation and the Vietnam - Venezuela NSHN Group in August 2023.

Chairman of the Vietnam - Venezuela NSHN Group Nguyen Lam Thanh emphasized that these are evidences of the positive contributions of the two National Assemblies to consolidating and enhancing the good traditional relationship and Comprehensive Partnership between Vietnam and Venezuela.

Agreeing with the need to further enhance bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Venezuela, especially through parliamentary diplomacy, the Ambassador affirmed that during his term of office, he will actively promote exchanges between the two countries, the two National Assemblies, the two NSHN Groups as well as promote cooperation in trade, aviation connectivity, energy, technology, etc.
