Vietnam and Poland established diplomatic relations in 1950, and have had a traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation for over 70 years. In terms of economic cooperation, Poland is currently Vietnam's number one trading partner in Central Eastern Europe, while Vietnam is Poland's third trading partner in Southeast Asia. The bilateral Parliamentary Friendship Group was established, actively contributing to the cooperative relationship between the two countries.
Vice President of the Polish Senate Michal Kaminski was pleased to welcome Vice President of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong and the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation to visit and work in Poland; wishing the delegation a successful visit.
Thanking the Vice President of the Polish Senate for the warm and respectful reception for the delegation, Vice President of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong affirmed that Vietnam wishes to continue strengthening relations with Poland. At the same time, he said that during the talks with the Vice President of the Polish House of Representatives, the two sides discussed the bilateral relations and measures to deepen the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong was pleased to note that the cooperative relationship between the two National Assemblies has been constantly developing. This term, the Vietnamese National Assembly has established the Vietnam - Poland Friendship Parliamentary Group chaired by the Chairman of the Judicial Committee; and the newly established Poland - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group in the Polish Senate and House of Representatives.
In an exchange with the Vice President of the Polish Senate, Vice President of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong suggested that the two sides continue to maintain exchanges of high-level delegations of National Assembly leaders, National Assembly agencies, and Friendship Parliamentarians' Groups; coordinate in monitoring and promoting the effective implementation of cooperation agreements between the Governments, ministries, branches and localities of the two countries; jointly support and exchange experiences in building and perfecting a favorable legal corridor, creating conditions for the Governments, ministries, branches, localities, businesses and people of the two countries to increase exchanges and cooperation on the basis of mutual benefit. In addition, continue to maintain contact, consultation, coordination and mutual support at multilateral parliamentary forums as well as on regional and world issues of mutual concern.
Vice President of the Polish Senate Michal Kaminski highly appreciated the parliamentary diplomacy activities of the Vietnamese National Assembly; he believed that the working sessions of the Vietnamese National Assembly Delegation in Poland this time will achieve good results in many fields.
At the talks, the two sides also exchanged issues of mutual interest in the fields of economics, trade, investment; education and training; culture and tourism; science and technology; and labor cooperation.
The Vietnamese community in Poland currently has about 35,000 people. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong asked Poland to continue creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Poland to stabilize their lives and contribute more to the socio-economic development of Poland as well as the good traditional friendship between the two peoples.
