The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: Lao Cai is located in the economic corridor of Kunming (China) - Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh (Vietnam) and is a growth pole, an economic trading center between ASEAN and the Southwest region of China. With nearly 200 km of border, Lao Cai's consistent policy is to become a connecting point for trade, tourism , culture and history.

Lao Cai is currently effectively exploiting 4 economic pillars, including: Industry, border gate economy, tourism and agriculture - forestry, in which, in terms of tourism, Sa Pa National Tourist Area is being oriented to become an international-class tourist area. In addition, Lao Cai also has many potential locations such as Y Ty (Bat Xat), Bac Ha plateau with beautiful natural landscapes, unique ethnic cultural identity, friendly and hospitable people. The province's infrastructure connection is gradually being invested in synchronously with highways and railways, in the future there will be more airports. This will be an important condition for transportation, trade and cooperation between the two localities and the two countries.

In recent times, Lao Cai and Yunnan have had many tourism promotion and tourism cooperation activities. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the delegation of the Yunnan Provincial Private Enterprise Association to support the promotion and encourage Yunnan and Chinese enterprises to come and explore investment cooperation opportunities in Lao Cai, especially in the fields of tourism and services. On this business trip to Lao Cai, the delegation consisted of 10 businesses operating in many different fields, but they had in common a love of tourism and a desire to seek opportunities for cooperation and development with businesses in Lao Cai.
