On December 16th, a delegation from the Hungarian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, led by Consul General Lehocz Gabor, paid a courtesy visit and held a working meeting with the leaders of Vinh Long province.

On December 16th, a delegation from the Hungarian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, led by Consul General Lehocz Gabor, paid a courtesy visit and held a working meeting with the leaders of Vinh Long province.

Receiving and working with the delegation were Comrade Nguyen Truc Son – Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of several relevant departments and agencies.

Speaking at the reception, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Truc Son expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation and emphasized that 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Hungary. Over the years, the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries has been continuously strengthened and developed, especially with the upgrading to a Comprehensive Partnership in 2018, creating a foundation for promoting extensive cooperation in many fields.

Informing the delegation about the potential and advantages of Vinh Long province, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated that the visit of the Consul General and the delegation was an opportunity for both sides to enhance understanding, open up opportunities for cooperation, and attract investment in the future. Vinh Long province wishes to promote cooperation with Hungary in areas of strength such as water and environmental technology, processing technology, renewable energy, and some supporting industries.

According to information presented at the meeting, Vinh Long province's export turnover to Hungary in 2025 is estimated at US$1.208 million, an increase of 3.46% compared to the same period in 2024, with main items including textiles, activated carbon, leather goods, coconut products, seafood, and handicrafts. Conversely, import turnover from Hungary is estimated at approximately US$604,732, an increase of 2.08%, mainly consisting of raw materials and machinery and equipment.
