Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc works with Viettel Group

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the afternoon of November 11, Comrade Ho Duc Phoc, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Steering Committee for Enterprise Innovation and Development, worked on the implementation of the arrangement, innovation, and improvement of operational efficiency of the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel).

Reporting at the meeting, Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel, stated: In the period of 2021-2025, the Group's production, business and revenue targets all met and exceeded the set targets. In 2025 alone, many results Viettel achieved were at a "breakthrough" level, exceeding expectations.

Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang also reported on the contents related to activities on developing telecommunications services; e-commerce, logistics; scientific and high-tech products; information technology; digital technology; defense industry; and the contents related to restructuring and rearranging enterprises under the group (equitization, divestment, reduction of ownership ratio); at the same time, he pointed out some problems and proposed solutions to restructure and improve the operational efficiency of enterprises in the coming time.

In the coming time, Viettel will continue to promote the application of science and technology; optimize management processes; arrange and perfect the organizational structure; attract high-quality human resources... Viettel Group's leaders also recommended that competent authorities research, develop, promulgate and implement a strategic project to support Vietnamese enterprises to "reach abroad" in a systematic and long-term manner.

At the meeting, representatives of the Government Office ; Ministry of Finance; Ministry of Science and Technology; Ministry of Home Affairs; Ministry of Justice; Steering Committee for Enterprise Innovation; Ministry of National Defense highly appreciated the efforts and impressive development results, as well as the contributions of Viettel Group in recent times in both production and business activities as well as in social security work.

At the same time, representatives of ministries and branches also gave their opinions on Viettel's specific proposals on restructuring plans, divestment, charter capital increase, listing registration, initial public offering; building strategies to support Vietnamese enterprises to promote their competitive advantages in investing abroad; mechanisms and policies to attract chief engineers, leading experts in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation... to create conditions for the Group to continue to develop strongly in the coming time.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc praised and highly appreciated the comprehensive results that Viettel Group has achieved in recent times. Not only affirming its leading brand, the group is also one of the 10 largest tax-paying enterprises in the country.

In all areas of operation (telecommunications, information technology, digital services, express delivery, logistics, security, network security, defense industry, foreign investment, etc.), Viettel Group has achieved remarkable achievements. Many Viettel products have reached intellectual heights, occupying the pinnacle of the world.

Besides production and business activities, Viettel Group is also a pioneer in bringing telephone signals to remote areas, implementing social security work, etc.

Agreeing with the solutions proposed by Viettel Group, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc gave specific comments on each proposal of Viettel Group and emphasized: Viettel needs to continue promoting the achieved results, build production and business plans with comprehensive solutions in terms of human resources, capital, technology, market... to achieve higher growth targets in the coming time.

At the same time, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc requested Viettel to continue to develop a team of good experts and effectively use high-quality human resources; focus on developing the defense industry; promote investment in science and technology, strive to master core technology and modern science and technology fields such as (data science, digital technology, AI, chip manufacturing industry associated with rare earth); continue to expand investment abroad;... to make the group develop increasingly stronger and more sustainably.
