General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, are on a state visit to South Korea. On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son gave an interview to the Korean press.
The General Secretary was the first state guest of the new Korean government. This was also the first visit to Korea by General Secretary To Lam in his new position. This demonstrated the high importance and priority that the two countries' senior leaders attach to the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that after more than 30 years of establishment and development, the Vietnam - Korea relationship has become a model, developed extensively and achieved many encouraging results in all fields.
The General Secretary's visit is a strong affirmation of Vietnam's determination to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the Republic of Korea, with the desire for higher political trust, closer strategic coordination, more comprehensive substantive cooperation and closer friendship between the two peoples.

This is also an important occasion for the leaders of the two countries to comprehensively discuss major measures, identify priorities and open new directions of cooperation, bringing the Vietnam-Korea relationship to a new era of development.
The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that through the visit, Vietnam is ready to cooperate with the new Korean government to focus on implementing a number of cooperation orientations.
The fields in which Korea has strengths and are suitable for Vietnam's new development orientation such as infrastructure, electronics, high technology, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, smart cities, and specialized industrial complexes along the value chain are worthy of being the leading important pillars of bilateral relations.
Korea has a proverb: “With unity, we can conquer the sky.” The Deputy Prime Minister believes that on the foundation that has created the success of the two countries and the similar basic strategic interests, the Vietnam - Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is facing a better, brighter future, increasingly developing substantially, effectively, sustainably and long-term.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that Vietnam is committed to accompanying Korean enterprises in developing a diverse and high-value supply chain, while encouraging Vietnamese enterprises to participate more deeply and in higher segments in the global supply network of Korean enterprises.
Vietnam is ready to create all conditions for foreign investors, including South Korea, to continue to invest stably and long-term, as well as seek new investment opportunities.
Vietnam has implemented a series of major policies and measures of revolutionary significance to reorganize and streamline the political apparatus; focus on prioritizing the development of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation; enhance deep and comprehensive international integration; reform the administrative system and legal system, and prioritize the development of the private economy.
Thereby creating a new development space for the country, while opening up unprecedented opportunities and favorable conditions for foreign investors, including Korean investors.

"Vietnam and Korea will continue to be development companions of each other, further promoting the achievements of the investment cooperation pillar, actively contributing to the recovery and sustainable development of the region and the world," the Deputy Prime Minister shared.
Vietnam and Korea have many similarities in culture, history, social values, traditions of loyalty, community spirit, and will to succeed.
With more than 350,000 Vietnamese people living in Korea and more than 250,000 Koreans living in Vietnam, including about 100,000 Vietnamese-Korean multicultural families, the two peoples have had close ties, creating favorable conditions for the extensive development of people-to-people and cultural exchange cooperation.
The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that cultural and educational cooperation between the two countries has never been as vibrant as it is now, acting as the glue that binds and deepens the relationship between the two countries.
People-to-people exchange and cultural cooperation between the two countries need to be placed in a long-term vision, with the common perception that this field is both the spiritual foundation of society and an important driving force for development and international integration of both countries, contributing to consolidating the foundation and social consensus favorable for the development of Vietnam - Korea relations.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, it is necessary to continue upgrading cooperation mechanisms and agreements on culture, education, and language with a long-term vision, researching the formation of cultural cooperation mechanisms, preserving cultural heritage, organizing artistic exchanges, and training high-quality cultural human resources.
Cultural institutions of the two countries will increase exchanges and deepen exchanges. Vietnam will establish a Vietnamese Cultural Center in Korea. Vietnam encourages Korea to share experiences and apply innovative models based on new technology, and support Vietnamese localities in planning development and promoting tourism...
The two countries need to continue supporting the overseas Vietnamese community living and working in each country, and pay more attention to the generations born into Vietnamese-Korean families.
