Covid-19 prevention, Ha Tinh strengthens medical surveillance at border gates

Ha Tinh Center for Disease Control has increased quarantine and medical surveillance personnel at Cau Treo International Border Gate to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic.

On the evening of May 15, speaking with Thanh Nien reporters, Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh, Director of the Ha Tinh Center for Disease Control, said that this unit has just increased quarantine and medical surveillance forces at Cau Treo International Border Gate (Huong Son District, Ha Tinh), to proactively prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic from entering through the border.

"For a long time, we have maintained a daily working group to conduct quarantine and medical surveillance to prevent respiratory diseases at Cau Treo International Border Gate.

Recently, following the announcement by the Thai Ministry of Health that there are tens of thousands of people infected with Covid-19 in the country, while thousands of people from Thailand and Laos enter Vietnam through Cau Treo International Border Gate every day. To proactively prevent the epidemic, we have just increased the number of permanent staff here to closely monitor health," said Mr. Thanh.

According to Mr. Thanh, in addition to arranging additional staff, the unit has also fully prepared chemicals, equipment and means to ensure meeting the requirements for epidemic prevention and control.

"If any case is detected when entering through Cau Treo International Border Gate showing signs of suspicion or being infected with Covid-19, we will instruct them to wear masks, limit contact with people around them and take measures to self-isolate and treat at home. Up to now, there have been no recorded cases of Covid-19 infection when entering through the border gate," Mr. Thanh informed.
