Collect scrap, give love

In March 2024, the Women's Union of Thai Thong 1 and Thai Thong 2 villages jointly implemented the model "Small work, big meaning". The model was placed at Vinh Thai intersection park and in front of Vinh Thai Primary School for members, residents and students to collect and put in scrap. Every month, the 2 unions sorted scrap and sold it to raise funds. In 2024, from the model's fund, the 2 unions donated 2 health insurance cards (over 500,000 VND/card); 5 scholarships (300,000 VND/card) to students in difficult circumstances. Currently, the two branches are reviewing to give 7 health insurance cards to students in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the opening of the 2025-2026 school year. Tran Ban Mai (born in 2016, from Dong Ninh Hoa ward) is staying with her parents in Thai Thong 2 village. 7 years ago, during a trip to the sea, her father suffered a serious stroke, so the family had to sell their only house to pay for treatment. In 2022, her family moved to Nha Trang area to live. Her mother works as a room attendant at a hotel with an income of 5 million VND/month. Every day, she rides her bike to school and then comes back to take care of her father. She is supported by the two branches with health insurance cards and books from the model's fund, helping her to go to school and reduce expenses for her family.
