Phu Yen Online - Exchange of experiences in implementing ecotourism projects in the forest

On the afternoon of August 11, comrade Le Tan Ho, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of departments and branches received and worked with the delegation of Ninh Thuan province led by comrade Le Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, on the content of exchanging experiences in implementing the project of eco- tourism , resort and entertainment in the forests of Phu Yen.

According to the Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee, the total forested land area in the province is about 160,420 hectares. To date, the province has approved 3 units for ecotourism, resort and entertainment projects in the forest and 4 units are developing projects. The province is facing some difficulties and obstacles in implementing the ecotourism, resort and entertainment projects in the forest.

At the meeting, Phu Yen provincial authorities said that according to the sustainable forest management plan for the 2021-2030 period approved by the Provincial People's Committee, the management boards of protective forests and special-use forests in the province have developed projects for ecotourism, recreation and entertainment...

To date, the Provincial People's Committee has approved 11 zones, with a total area of over 3,440 hectares of protective forests and special-use forests, for the leasing of forest environments, ecotourism, resort and entertainment businesses. Forest management boards have developed projects, established procedures to call for investors to lease forest environments, signed forest environment leasing contracts and established investment projects for ecotourism, resort and entertainment businesses in the forest in accordance with regulations.

Currently, some investors renting forest environments are planting additional forest species in vacant land and piloting planting of some non-timber forest products under the forest canopy. However, the implementation of the project also faces some difficulties and obstacles such as: The laws are not unified, so it is necessary to seek opinions and guidance from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; there are no guidelines on the preparation, appraisal and approval of eco-tourism, recreation and entertainment projects in production forests; the project of renting forest environments is not subject to the State's land allocation or land lease, etc.

On the same morning, the delegation of Ninh Thuan province conducted a field survey and implemented the project of renting forest environment for ecotourism, resort and entertainment services in production forests and special-use forests of Deo Ca (Dong Hoa town).

According to the program, on August 12, the working delegation continued to survey the implementation of the eco-tourism and resort project in the production forest under the Lac Sanh hot mineral spring resort project (Tay Hoa district).
