Based on the above advantages, Mr. Nam and other teachers in the subject group of Nguyet An Secondary School have researched and applied the debate method into teaching based on closely following the principles and procedures for organizing debate activities; at the same time, flexibly and creatively implementing instructions for students to prepare lessons and how to raise debate issues. Mr. Nam shared: "For a debate lesson to be effective, the teacher must be creative in the way of presenting the debate issue and organizing the participation of students in debate activities. For example, when teaching the lesson "January Narcissus", the teacher shows students pictures or videos related to the issue, then gives debate content such as: What do you see in the pictures? Share the message in the pictures? Choose an opinion or a message that you find most important? Explain the reason?... Or when teaching the speaking and listening section "Presenting opinions on volunteer activities for the community", the teacher lets students participate in volunteer activities in the locality or school. From there, students will collect pictures and videos to present their debate about current volunteer activities".
Also according to teacher Nguyen Xuan Nam, when teaching using the debate method, teachers must create an interactive learning environment, maximizing the role of each individual in the process of organizing debate activities. For example, when teaching the speaking and listening sections of "Ho Khanh's Imprint", teachers can raise the issue: There is an opinion that a talented explorer needs many different qualities, the most important of which are understanding and passion for exploring the natural world? What is your opinion on this issue?...
It can be seen that Literature is an important subject that takes up a lot of time in the teaching and learning program in schools.
