In recent times, agricultural production in Tan An ward has developed in an effective and sustainable direction, associated with the application of scientific and technological advances. The total annual cultivated area reaches more than 2,500 hectares, of which the rice growing area is about 2,100 hectares (equivalent to 84%), with a production value of about 117 million VND/ha/year. The ward has formed more than 100 hectares of concentrated production areas and deployed 4 high-tech agricultural models.
Comrade Dao Cong Hung, Secretary of Tan An Ward Party Committee, surveyed the agricultural production area in the locality. |
A typical example is the Tri Yen High-Tech Agricultural Cooperative in Duc Thanh residential group. On an area of 3 hectares, the cooperative has built a system of greenhouses and net houses to grow high - value crops such as: melons, cucumbers, lilies, fruit tomatoes, strawberries, etc. The products are grown on substrates, using automatic drip irrigation and sprinkler systems.
Director of the Cooperative Tran Xuan Dang said: “In the production area, there are devices to measure temperature and humidity. When you need to water or fertilize, just press a button, reducing labor and saving costs.” Thanks to proper care and traceability, the cooperative's products are popular with consumers, supplying dozens of tons of agricultural products to the market every month.
In addition to high-tech models, many key crops such as watermelon, corn, peanuts, etc. also bring significant income to people. Total income from the farming industry is estimated at about 3 trillion VND/year.
Livestock and aquaculture have also developed steadily in a concentrated, large-scale direction. The whole ward currently has nearly 1,500 buffaloes and cows; more than 10,000 pigs, hundreds of thousands of poultry... The aquaculture area reaches 160 hectares. Many livestock models apply advanced techniques, bringing high economic efficiency. Total income from the livestock and aquaculture industry is estimated at nearly 1,000 billion VND/year.
The “One Commune One Product” (OCOP) program has been effectively implemented. The new rural construction movement continues to receive attention, achieving many positive results, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people.
Identifying the important role of agricultural production in economic development and stabilizing people's lives, Tan An ward strives to achieve by 2030 the production value per hectare of agricultural land reaching 130 million VND or more, and the average income per capita reaching 80 million VND/person/year.
To realize this goal, the ward focuses on promoting agricultural production towards commodities and applying high technology. Along with that, the locality innovates the production organization model, enhances the application of science and technology to improve the quality, value and competitiveness of agricultural products.

One of the key contents identified in the Resolution of the Ward Party Congress, term 2025-2030 is to build and implement a program to develop high-quality technology-applied agriculture. Accordingly, the ward will synchronously develop the fields of cultivation, livestock, forestry and aquaculture, focusing on forming medium and large-scale concentrated production areas through cooperatives or land leasing.
The locality prioritizes the development of agricultural products such as vegetables, tubers, and fruits; replicates high-tech agricultural models; promotes livestock farming in the direction of industrial and semi-industrial farms associated with planning. At the same time, gradually stops the operation of farms outside the planning; develops pig and poultry herds in a disease-safe direction; effectively exploits water surface area for intensive aquaculture, improving productivity and economic value.
