PTC3 in the 15-year journey of building and developing EVNNPT

Digital transformation to serve effectively

PTC3 manages and operates the transmission grid in 9 provinces of the South Central and Central Highlands. This area is both the connection point of the 500kV North-South transmission system through transformer stations and 500-220kV lines and supplies electricity to power plants in the South Central and Central Highlands regions.

Over the past 15 years, thanks to the attention and direction of EVNNPT and the support of the locality with a power transmission system, PTC3 has ensured smooth power transmission on the North-South axis, while releasing important key energy sources in the region such as: Hydropower in the Central Highlands, Vinh Tan thermal power plant cluster, Van Phong BOT thermal power plant... and renewable energy plants in the region.

In 2008, the Company managed and operated 1,483km of 220kV and 500kV lines; 4 220kV and 500kV transformer stations, with a total transformer capacity of 1,353MVA and 731 employees. Each year, the transmitted electricity was about 2.6 billion kWh, of which about 2 billion kWh was supplied to regional loads. Up to now, PTC3 has managed and operated 5,769km of 220kV - 500kV lines; 18 220kV transformer stations with remote control and unmanned operation, 6 500kV transformer stations with a total capacity of 15,548 MVA and 994 employees. With the number of power lines increasing nearly 4 times, transformer stations increasing 6 times, the power output transmitted on the grid increasing 29 times compared to 2008, but the labor force only increased 1.35 times.

Along with the task of operation management, PTC3 has focused all resources to ensure the completion of progress, volume and quality of construction investment projects assigned by EVNNPT, actively contributing to the development of the power transmission grid to ensure safe and stable power supply, serving the socio -economic development goals and living needs of people in the provinces of the South Central and Central Highlands regions.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Thang, Director of PTC3, said that to achieve the above results, PTC3 determined that the application of scientific and technological achievements in operation management and construction investment is of decisive significance. Therefore, in the past time, PTC3 has completed the database to ensure correct and complete data on the PMIS and MDMS systems; completed and put into use the electronic library software of EVNNPT, meeting the needs of data retrieval in technical management and production operation at PTC3; completed the conversion of 220kV transformer stations to unmanned mode as planned and basically completed the project of the Unmanned Transformer Station Operation Monitoring Center... In particular, for lines that are regularly operating at full load or overload, UAVs equipped with thermal cameras capable of detecting heat emission have been applied in the management and operation of these lines.

PTC3 staff promote the application of science and technology in management and operation to ensure a safe, continuous and stable power transmission grid.

The movement of research and application of science and technology has always been focused on, in which some topics researched by PTC3 have been widely applied in the Corporation such as: Scientific topic of cleaning insulation with high pressure water, research topic, building a transformer station management system with smart devices, topic of monitoring PTC3's first equipment... Notably, the scientific topic of cleaning insulation with high pressure water has been widely applied in all units under Vietnam Electricity Group.

Taking workers as the center of development

PTC3 Director Nguyen Cong Thang said that to achieve the above results, the Company has always identified employees as the most valuable asset. Caring for employees' lives is always a special concern of each business leader and is considered an important factor contributing to the success of their unit.

With the characteristics of operating in the high-tech field, there are many risks of accidents affecting the health of workers, the Company always cares about building a safe and professional working environment. Workers are trained and assigned jobs suitable to their abilities. Every year, workers are examined for health, trained to improve their safety and professional knowledge, and there are many activities to raise their sense of responsibility in ensuring safety, maintaining environmental hygiene, neatness, cleanliness, and self-training to improve health, contributing to reducing the risk of occupational diseases and preventing work accidents in production. Tools, equipment, and labor protection for the management and operation of the power grid are fully equipped to ensure quality.

Along with that, the Company implements EVNNPT culture with focus, suitable to the actual circumstances and conditions to connect employees, create a friendly working environment, ensure fairness and transparency; build the image of EVNNPT people with strong character, high sense of responsibility, always respect humanity, benevolence and aspiration. Every year, the Company's leaders and the trade union build a fund to visit and encourage employees and their family members when they are sick, ill or encounter unfortunate events in life.

Actively coordinating to carry out tasks in localities such as relocating the North-South expressway construction line, participating in social security activities, the Company has created close, close, and cohesive relationships with local authorities in the area; creating consensus and support from local Party committees, authorities and people for the Company's activities.

In the coming time, the Electricity industry in general and EVNNPT in particular are expected to face many difficulties and challenges. As a subordinate unit, PTC3 is always aware of the need to continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, unanimity, overcome difficulties, uphold the spirit of initiative and creativity, promote the application of science and technology, and strive to successfully complete the goals and tasks assigned by EVNNPT.
