On the afternoon of April 10, 2024, at the construction site of PTSC Vung Tau Downstream Port, Vietnam Oil and Gas Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) completed the crane installation of the largest component to complete the first of 33 wind turbine foundations that PTSC was ordered to manufacture and supply for the Greater Changhua 2b&4 offshore wind power project of customer Ørsted. This is also the first offshore wind power foundation to be manufactured in Vietnam.

The wind turbine base is nearly 100 meters high and weighs about 2,350 tons, constructed and manufactured by PTSC.

This is one of the largest cranes ever installed in Vietnam and the region with a load capacity of nearly 800 tons and a height of nearly 100 meters. To carry out this work, PTSC mobilized one of the largest cranes in the world with a lifting capacity of up to 2,350 tons, using Ring Crane technology - the largest and most modern crane operating for the first time in Vietnam.

This crane installation is the final stage to complete the fabrication of the offshore wind power tower base, which is both a testament to the series of innovative construction methods and breakthrough technological solutions of PTSC's highly qualified and experienced engineers, and a basis for PTSC to further promote mass production on a large scale with the goal of shipping all 33 bases in early 2025 for delivery to customer Ørsted for transportation and installation in Taiwan (China).

A highlight in the production chain is the largest and most modern anti-corrosion paint factory system in the Asia- Pacific region newly invested by PTSC, which has been operating smoothly to safely produce components about 40 meters high. This factory system meets extremely strict requirements according to European standards, even more so than in PTSC's traditional oil and gas sector.

This first completed base has realized the statement of Mr. Le Manh Cuong - General Director of PTSC at the Contract Signing Ceremony with the customer on May 19, 2023: "PTSC commits to utilizing all its resources to complete this Contract effectively, safely and to build a supply chain to contribute to the development of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province into a supply center for the offshore renewable energy industry not only in Vietnam but also in the Asia - Pacific region".
