On the morning of September 23, at Nghia Dung Primary School (Ba Dinh District), the Departmentof Education and Training (GD&DT) of Ba Dinh (Hanoi City) organized a gift-giving ceremony to support students in Phuc Xa Ward who are in difficult circumstances and affected by storm No. 3. Accordingly, 123 students from 3 schools (Kindergarten No. 8, Nghia Dung Primary School and Phuc Xa Secondary School) received gifts this time from the industry. Each student received a gift and cash of 2 million VND. The total value of the gifts was more than 258 million VND.

Expressing her emotions upon receiving the gift, Nguyen Thi Anh Duong, class 8A1, Phuc Xa Secondary School, said that this was a great source of encouragement to help her and her family overcome difficulties after the storm and flood. “We promise to try our best to study well, to be worthy of the love and care that the authorities, teachers, and parents have given us…” - Anh Duong said.

Talking to us, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Tung, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Ba Dinh District said that, in response to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City, the Department launched a movement to support people affected by storm No. 3 to all cadres, teachers, employees, students and parents.

Specifically, with the spirit of solidarity and “mutual love”, all cadres, teachers, staff, students and parents in Ba Dinh district have actively joined hands to contribute spiritually and materially to help people affected by storm No. 3. In just 5 days of launching (from September 13 to 17), the entire Education and Training sector of Ba Dinh district has donated nearly 2.9 billion VND, nearly 4,900 notebooks, nearly 2,800 pens of all kinds, 600 toothbrushes, 270 kg of rice, 150 boxes of baby oil, 100 barrels of clean water, 100 towels, 50 bars of soap... along with many clothes and other essential items.

On this occasion, the Department of Education and Training of Ba Dinh District also commended units, philanthropists, cadres, teachers, staff, students and parents for actively and proactively implementing many meaningful donation and support activities. In particular, the Department commended the staff and teachers of Nghia Dung Primary School for teaching 45 free extra-curricular knowledge lessons in September 2024 for nearly 800 students with a value equivalent to more than 100 million VND.

Chairman of the Hanoi Education Trade Union, Mr. Do Van Nam, commented that storm No. 3 has caused quite heavy damage to schools in the capital. The whole sector has implemented many solutions to gradually stabilize teaching and learning. However, currently, the whole city still has about 20 schools that cannot welcome students back to school in person, and the lives of many students' families are still difficult. "The Education and Training Department of Ba Dinh District will continue to advise local authorities to continue implementing solutions to support students, especially students in difficult circumstances, affected by storms and floods. At the same time, proactively develop response plans and respond quickly so as not to interrupt teaching and learning..." - Mr. Do Van Nam believes.
