LeLeMan is what the daughter calls her mother - Mrs. Le Le Man (62 years old), owner of a vegetarian restaurant with more than ten years of experience on Dinh Hoa Street (District 8, Ho Chi Minh City).
All-women restaurant
One Tuesday afternoon, I stopped by Mrs. Le Man’s restaurant. Today, the restaurant was selling vermicelli soup with crab soup, the same menu as it has been for many years. Even though it wasn’t a vegetarian day, the restaurant was still regularly visited by customers, one after another.
The shop sells a different dish every day.

In the restaurant, Ms. Le Man's younger sister and a few other people work continuously so that customers do not have to wait long. The restaurant is open from 9am to 6pm, but there are days when the restaurant runs out of food by 4pm.
The owner confided that this restaurant was opened by her sister-in-law more than 10 years ago. At that time, Mrs. Man was selling homemade spices and sauces (soy sauce, fermented bean curd, satay, chili sauce, etc.). Her sister-in-law sold them for a few months and then quit. Seeing that, Mrs. Man immediately "inherited" the restaurant, opening and selling vegetarian dishes until today.
Instead of selling one dish, the owner said she sells a different vegetarian dish every day to vary the customers' tastes. Customers don't get bored and can come to the restaurant all week.
Accordingly, the restaurant's menu is diverse with noodle soup or vermicelli with spring rolls (Monday); vermicelli with crab soup (Tuesday); wonton noodles (Wednesday); Thai noodles (Thursday); Hue noodles (Friday); pho (Saturday). On the 1st and 15th of the lunar month, LeLeMan sells curry and spring rolls.
The restaurant is regularly supported by customers.
"Curry is also the most popular dish at my restaurant, but customers also support the other dishes a lot. I cook these dishes myself, research them myself, I teach them the craft, I don't learn from anyone. I cooked them at home and my relatives praised them, so I cook them for customers like that," the owner smiled and confided.
One special thing about this restaurant is that the owner and the assistants are all women. Mrs. Man confided that on full moon and new moon days, when the restaurant is crowded, her son collects extra money. On normal days, the restaurant is run by women.
Proud of my daughter
As a popular food reviewer on social networks, recently Ms. Tieu Nhu, LeLeMan's daughter, has made many clips telling stories about her mother's restaurant and received a lot of hearts. From here, the restaurant's business has also become more popular.
“My daughter is my pride. She is very talented, emotional, active and cute. Thanks to her, many people know me and many customers come to support me,” LeLeMan said.
The vermicelli soup with crab soup costs 35,000 VND.
Tieu Nhu confided that, to her, her mother's vegetarian restaurant has a special meaning, because thanks to it, her mother has money to support the family as well as to send her two sisters to school. She herself is also happy to be able to introduce the delicious dishes cooked by her mother to more people.
Here, each dish costs from 35,000 VND. The Hu Tieu Mi Hoan Thanh dish sold on Wednesdays costs 40,000 VND. As a regular customer for nearly 6 years, Mr. Hung Nguyen (42 years old, living in District 8) said that this price is not high.
According to him, the dishes here are cooked deliciously, to his taste like eating at home. That is also the reason why he comes here 3-4 times a week, especially he does not miss the vegetarian days, when the restaurant sells his favorite curry dish.
“My favorite dish is curry, but I can only eat it 2 days a month. Sometimes I wish she sold it every week so I could eat it. But waiting is happiness, all the other dishes are delicious,” he humorously shared.
The children are the pride of the restaurant owners.
The restaurant is located at 29 Dinh Hoa (District 8, HCMC).
For LeLeMan, the restaurant is the passion that she has built over the years, the "bowl of rice" that the owner uses to feed her children. Her daily happiness is to cook delicious dishes for her diners...
