Mi 171 helicopter of the Air Defense - Air Force carrying relief goods including food, drinking water... landed in Tuong Duong, Nghe An
According to information from the National Civil Defense Steering Committee, on July 24, implementing the direction of the Ministry of National Defense , the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army sent a working delegation and directed agencies and units to coordinate in organizing support for areas isolated by floodwaters in Nghe An.
Specifically, the Department of Rescue and Relief (General Staff) sent a working group led by Colonel Tran The Hien, Deputy Director, in coordination with the General Staff (Military Region 4), Air Defense - Air Force Service, Army Corps 18, to organize 6 relief flights (3 flights to Tuong Duong commune; 1 flight to Ky Son commune; 1 flight to My Ly and Nhon Mai communes to drop goods; 1 flight to Con Cuong commune). The total amount of relief goods transported was about 18 tons.
It is expected that on July 25, there will be 4 more flights to transport relief goods.
Implementing the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 120/CD-TTg dated July 23, 2025 and Official Dispatch No. 4244/CD-TM dated July 23 of the General Staff, to focus on overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 and floods, the General Departments: Politics , Logistics-Technology, Defense Industry, General Department II; Military Regions 1, 2, 3, 4; Air Defense-Air Force, Navy; Commands: Border Guard, Coast Guard, Hanoi Capital; Army Corps 12; Arms: Artillery, Special Forces, Armored Corps, Engineering, Communications, Chemistry; Army Corps 11, 12, 18, 19; Nghe An Provincial Civil Defense Command proactively develop plans, mobilize forces and means to effectively handle situations that arise.
The military forces help people overcome the consequences of the storm and conduct search and rescue, minimizing damage to people and property of the State and people, ensuring absolute safety for people and vehicles.
According to the National Civil Defense Steering Committee, the circulation of storm No. 3 caused damage, killing 3 people, leaving 2 missing; collapsing 122 houses (Nghe An), blowing off the roofs of 539 houses (Thanh Hoa 122 houses, Nghe An 417 houses), 1 school (Nghe An); landslides at 29 traffic points (Thanh Hoa 13 points, Nghe An 16 points); landslides at 62 positive slopes; landslides at 3 dike lines (Thanh Hoa); flooding and damage to 21,802 hectares (Thanh Hoa 19,391 hectares, Nghe An 2,411 hectares); broken and fallen industrial trees on 293.8 hectares (Nghe An).
The Military Region 4 Command mobilized 9,293 officers and soldiers (3,168 soldiers, 6,125 militiamen) along with 91 cars and 66 ships and boats of various types to support people in overcoming floods.
