On the training route of the Vietnam People's Army, the snow layer was about 15 cm thick, making it difficult to travel.
This is a special weather situation that the officers and students in the parade formation have never encountered in a training environment in Vietnam.
After discussing with the host country, Major General Nguyen Van Thanh, Head of the Vietnam People's Army Delegation, decided to take advantage of the covered porch in the delegation's accommodation area for the soldiers to continue training while waiting for the weather to improve.
At the same time, the organizing committee mobilized staff and snow removal vehicles. Thanks to that, by around 10 a.m., the Vietnam People's Army and other countries' delegations were able to deploy their formations and continue outdoor training as usual.

Earlier, in the early morning of April 30 (Vietnam time), the Vietnam People's Army delegation had its first joint training session at Red Square with delegations from other countries participating in the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Great Patriotic War in the Russian Federation.
The training session took place at night, in cold and rainy conditions, sometimes with heavy rain. However, the spirit of all the cadres and students in the group was very excited, enthusiastic and full of determination.
In order of the parade blocks, the Vietnam People's Army delegation was in 8th place, right before the delegations of China, Laos and Myanmar. During this joint training session, the display of equipment and weapons of the host country impressed those present.
The Vietnam People's Army delegation arrived in Russia on April 24 and began practicing for the parade a day later.
68 soldiers from the Army Officer School 1 representing the Vietnam People's Army participated in the parade celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Victory Day of the Great Patriotic War in the Russian Federation held at Red Square, Moscow, on May 9.
The soldiers participating in the parade are aged 19-30 and 1.8 m or taller. These are officers, lecturers and students with well-proportioned bodies, who can perform command movements quickly, strongly and accurately.
