Military Region 1 supports overcoming the consequences of landslides in Bac Kan province

Immediately after receiving the news, Military Region 1 established a working group led by Colonel Nguyen Khac Huy, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 1, along with representatives of relevant agencies to urgently go to the scene in Yen Duong and Dong Phuc communes, Ba Be district, Bac Kan province to provide financial support to the families of the people who suffered losses; at the same time, directly directed the work of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters caused by heavy rain and landslides.

 

Officers and soldiers of the Bac Kan Provincial Military Command and militia and self-defense forces help people in Ba Be district overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

Colonel Nguyen Khac Huy, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Military Region, presented the Military Region's support to families affected by landslides in Tau Luot village, Dong Phuc commune, Ba Be district, Bac Kan province.

According to statistics from the Military Command of Bac Kan province, by the end of May 18, heavy rain and landslides had caused many houses of people in Bac Kan province to be flooded, eroded, swept away, and severely damaged; flooded about 6 hectares of crops in Nam Cuong commune (Cho Don district); Chu Huong commune (Ba Be district) had a broken fish pond and many other agricultural areas were deeply flooded with undetermined damage.

Heavy rains also swept away two suspension bridges and one electric pole in Dia Linh commune, Ba Be district. In particular, landslides in Yen Duong and Dong Phuc communes, Ba Be district, Bac Kan province killed four people and injured three others. Currently, the injured have been taken to the Ba Be District Medical Center for health monitoring.

The Provincial Military Command urgently mobilized forces, vehicles, and equipment, coordinated with the militia and other local forces to promptly arrive at the scene to participate in overcoming the consequences of the natural disaster.

The Military Region 1 Command directed to allocate 55 million VND from the Military Region's "For the Poor" Fund to support families with a support level of 10 million VND/1 deceased person and 5 million VND/1 injured person, in order to share with people some of the damage caused by natural disasters.
