Military Region 5 donates many Covid-19 prevention equipment to Laos and Cambodia

The donation of medical supplies and equipment to help prevent and fight the Covid-19 pandemic with a total value of more than 4.6 billion VND was held at 4 border gates between Military Region 5 and the two neighboring countries of Laos and Cambodia.
Specifically, at Le Thanh Border Gate (Duc Co District, Gia Lai), the working delegation of Military Region 5 Command presented 12 items of Covid-19 epidemic prevention including infrared thermometers, anti-epidemic clothing, chemical sprayers, thousands of masks, medical gloves and hundreds of kilograms of dry food and food to Military Region 1 (Royal Cambodian Army) and Rattanakiri and Stung Treng Military Sub-regions (Cambodia).

At Nam Giang Border Gate ( Quang Nam ), a handover of medical supplies and equipment was organized to support the 5th Infantry Division, the 2nd Non-Commissioned Officer School in Vieng-Xay and the Military Command of Salavan and Sekong provinces (Lao People's Army).

At Bo Y border gate (Kon Tum), the delegation presented medical equipment to help the people and armed forces of Champasak and Attapeu provinces (Laos). At Bu P'Rang border gate (Dak Nong), the delegation presented medical supplies and equipment to the people and armed forces of Mundunkirri Military Sub-region (Cambodia).

The items supported by Military Region 5 and the Military Commands of 9 provinces and cities under Military Region 5 to Laos and Cambodia include 295 infrared thermometers, more than 5,800 Covid-19 anti-epidemic uniforms, nearly 150 chemical sprayers, tens of thousands of masks, medical gloves and hundreds of kilograms of dry food and provisions.

The total value of medical supplies and equipment is more than 4.6 billion VND, drawn from the military region's defense budget and support from provinces and cities in the military region.

At the handover ceremony, units from Laos and Cambodia hoped to always receive attention and support from Military Region 5, while continuing to strengthen cooperation, share information, prevent and repel the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic.
