Concerned about protecting consumer rights

Thanks to the continuous attention to the enforcement of laws to protect consumer rights, Lam Dong has achieved many positive results in recent times. Thereby, contributing to ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of consumers, building a sustainable business environment, creating an important driving force for the stable development of the economy .

Immediately after Directive No. 30, dated January 22, 2019 of the Central Party Secretariat and Resolution No. 82, dated May 26, 2020 of the Government were issued, the Provincial Party Committee issued Plan No. 80, dated April 8, 2019 on the implementation of Directive No. 30, dated January 22, 2019 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership and the State's management responsibility for consumer rights protection (CRP). On that basis, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 3944, dated June 11, 2021 on the implementation of Resolution No. 82 of the Government... to strengthen the Party's leadership, the State's management responsibility, promote the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio- political organizations in CRP in the province. At the same time, every year, the Provincial People's Committee issues a plan to organize activities in response to Vietnam Consumer Rights Day in the province.

Implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, Party committees, authorities, Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations from the province to the grassroots level have all developed implementation plans and organized the dissemination and dissemination of the contents of the above directives and plans to Party members, cadres, civil servants, public employees, union members, association members and all classes of people. At the same time, considering the work of protecting and managing consumers as an important, regular and long-term task, the responsibility of Party committees, authorities, organizations in the political system and the whole society.

In addition, all levels, sectors and organizations have integrated and disseminated the content of new policies and regulations on consumer protection and management to party members, civil servants, public employees and workers to raise awareness of the important role of consumer protection and management through many diverse and rich forms.

Every year, the Provincial People's Committee directs the Department of Industry and Trade, People's Committees of districts and cities to regularly organize activities in response to Vietnam Consumer Rights Day. In particular, it focuses on disseminating and educating policies and laws related to protecting consumer rights for vulnerable consumers such as: Children, the elderly, the disabled, consumers in rural areas, remote areas, etc.

Information on the situation of supply and demand, prices of goods, results of market inspection and control, some typical cases of smuggling, counterfeit goods and trade fraud; mobilizing enterprises to improve the quality of goods production, meeting consumer demand; praising good people and good deeds in consumer protection work; publicly criticizing irresponsible acts and serious violations in consumer protection by organizations and individuals for general prevention and education; posting news and articles on the quality of goods and services and warning about risks that cause unsafety to consumers...

Focus on mobilizing and creating favorable conditions for businesses to organize activities to show gratitude to consumers. In particular, encourage businesses and distributors to organize activities to reduce product prices when trading on the provincial e-commerce platform with the aim of connecting businesses with consumers; attracting consumers to shop on the province's e-commerce platform.

In addition, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and the Department of Information and Communications direct and guide press agencies to strengthen information, propaganda, dissemination and warnings against violations, taking advantage of e-commerce activities to commit smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in order to contribute to deterrence, warning and raising awareness of consumers when participating in online transactions. Lam Dong Newspaper, Provincial Radio and Television Station, Provincial Electronic Information Portal, websites of departments, branches, sectors and enterprises strengthen propaganda and mobilization work for cadres, party members, union members and members of the political system to be exemplary and voluntarily change their awareness and behavior in purchasing public assets, daily life and consumption; provide information on the quality of goods and services and warn about risks of unsafety for consumers. In addition, the electronic information portal and the public administration portal zalo also regularly post information related to the fight against smuggling and trade fraud, and publicize the list of organizations, businesses and individuals who have committed violations. Through propaganda activities to call for, motivate and encourage the participation of state agencies, social organizations, businesses and consumers in related activities; gradually turn Consumer Rights Day into an important driving force and highlight in economic and social life, contributing to building a healthy business environment.

At the same time, all levels and sectors focus on strengthening inspection, examination, supervision, handling of violations and supporting consumers such as establishing interdisciplinary inspection teams (with the participation and coordination of the Consumer Protection and Management Association) to inspect the production and trading of goods, especially the work of ensuring food hygiene and safety in production areas and circulation on the market to protect the rights and interests of consumers. Through the Consumer Protection and Management Association to receive and coordinate the settlement of consumer complaints. From 2019 to present, the Association has received and coordinated the satisfactory settlement of 30 consumer complaints (related to: measurement accuracy of electricity meters, cold water meters, garments, electrical and electronic equipment, gasoline - oil, food, fertilizers, gas, ...).

On the other hand, promoting socialization, enhancing the role and responsibility of organizations, individuals producing and trading goods, services and social organizations in consumer protection. Thereby, significantly limiting the situation of trading in counterfeit, fake, poor quality goods, commercial fraud in the market, consumer protection, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province.

It can be affirmed that the work of consumer protection and management in the province in accordance with the spirit of Directive No. 30 of the Secretariat has received increasing attention and achieved many important results; Consumers are identified as a force with an increasingly important role in the economy, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of consumers not only promotes consumption activities but also aims to build a sustainable business environment, creating an important driving force for the stable development of the economy.
