The event takes place from April 15 to May 2, 2025, peaking from April 21 to April 27, with many diverse activities from the center to remote areas, aiming to promote the reading movement in the community and build a widespread reading culture throughout the province.
The official launching ceremony was held on April 21 at Quang Nam College, combining book exhibition, launching the preliminary round of the Provincial Reading Culture Ambassador Contest and programs at libraries, schools, armed forces units, and book publishing enterprises in the area.
With the messages "Reading culture - Connecting the community" and "Reading books - enriching knowledge, nurturing aspirations", the plan aims to affirm the role of books in developing thinking and personality, as well as contributing to building the Vietnamese cultural value system.
In particular, this year's activities will combine tradition and modern technology, promote book publishing via digital platforms, deploy mobile libraries and reading promotion programs in disadvantaged areas.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to take the lead in implementing the plan, in coordination with the Department of Education and Training, districts, towns, cities, organizations and related enterprises. The implementation results will be reported to the province before May 20, 2025 for synthesis and submission to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
