According to information from the People's Committee of Ha Long City ( Quang Ninh province), Bai Tho walking street officially opened at 8:00 p.m. on June 23.
Bai Tho walking street is one of the new tourism products of Quang Ninh, expected to contribute to helping the locality achieve its goal of welcoming 15 million visitors in 2023.
According to a report from the Department of Tourism of Quang Ninh province, by early June 2023, the whole province welcomed more than 7 million visitors, about 1.7 times higher than the same period in 2022. Total tourism revenue from the beginning of the year to date reached about 13,140 billion VND, more than 1.8 times higher than the same period in 2022.

In a quick exchange with Nguoi Dua Tin , Mr. Pham Duc Tuan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bach Dang Ward, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province said that in recent days, the Bach Dang Ward authorities have coordinated with the functional agencies of Ha Long City to carefully prepare the conditions for the Bai Tho walking street to come into operation. Thereby, creating new tourism products to attract more tourists.
Bai Tho walking street is deployed on 2 streets, Long Tien and Le Quy Don in Bach Dang ward. The walking street is about 400m long, passing through 17 residential groups with more than 500 households. The walking street operates from 18:00 to 24:00 from Friday and Saturday every week with about 50 mobile stalls selling souvenirs, food and drinks.

Residents on this street are allowed to use the sidewalk in front of their doors to conduct business and must pay an appropriate fee. In addition, depending on actual conditions, the management unit will organize cultural and street art activities that suit the needs and tastes of tourists and local customs and practices.
In order for Bai Tho walking street to operate stably and orderly, Ha Long City authorities have established a Street Management Board. At the same time, regulations on business lines, security and order, environmental sanitation, free parking arrangements, etc. have been issued.

Recorded from 5pm on the same day, Bai Tho walking street was quite bustling. Many local people gathered on the sidewalk area with an eager, waiting mood. Shop owners and restaurants were busy preparing food and drinks to serve tourists.
Mr. Tran Quang Hai (62 years old, living on Long Tien street, Bach Dang ward) shared: “We are very excited when the street is beautiful, airy, the system of electricity, telephone, internet lines... is neatly bundled. The businesses along the street, including my family, are very happy because the number of customers is expected to be high during the opening as well as on weekends. We hope that the local government will maintain the walking street for a long time.”
In the area allocated for business by the Management Board of Bai Tho Walking Street, Nguyen Thu Hoa and her husband (Kim Hoan Street, Bach Dang Ward) were busy preparing goods to sell on the opening night of the walking street. The couple is one of nearly 50 households registered to sell food, drinks, OCOP products... on the walking street.

Joining the crowd on the opening night of the walking street, Mr. Pham Van Hieu, a tourist from Kien Thuy district, Hai Phong city, said: “On the occasion of the weekend, I took my whole family to visit Ha Long Bay, conveniently stopping by Bai Tho walking street on the occasion of the opening. I found that the street management board arranged the shops reasonably, security and order were ensured, especially there were many delicious and attractive snacks typical of Quang Ninh province.”
