Quang Ninh awards 400 million VND to students who won Bronze Medals at the International Olympiad in Informatics

On the morning of August 7, the Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to honor and reward students and teachers who won Bronze Medals at the 37th International Olympiad in Informatics, taking place from July 27 to August 3, 2025 in Bolivia.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, awarded to student Ninh Quang Thang, class 12, IT major, Ha Long High School for the Gifted.

At the program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, awarded a reward of 400 million VND from the province to student Ninh Quang Thang, class 12 specializing in IT, Ha Long High School for the Gifted, and 200 million VND to teacher Ha Dai Ton, teacher in charge of the excellent IT student team in 2025, Ha Long High School for the Gifted. This is the reward level stipulated in Resolution No. 63/2021/NQ-HDND dated December 9, 2021 of the 14th term People's Council of Quang Ninh province, which stipulates the reward and support regime in the training of excellent students of Quang Ninh province from the 2021-2022 school year to the 2025-2026 school year.

Student Ninh Quang Thang, grade 12 IT major, Ha Long High School for the Gifted, has won a Bronze medal at the 37th International Olympiad in Informatics. Ninh Quang Thang is a student with a long history of outstanding achievements in his studies, especially in the field of Informatics, and has won many high prizes in provincial and national competitions for excellent students.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, praised and congratulated the outstanding achievements of Ninh Quang Thang students and the silent and dedicated contributions of teachers in training and teaching. This is a remarkable result, demonstrating the spirit of tireless efforts, intelligence and bravery of the young generation of Quang Ninh in the era of innovation and digital transformation.

Ninh Quang Thang's achievements are not only a source of pride for himself, his family, his teachers and his school, but also an honor for the Education sector of Quang Ninh province. Thereby, it contributes to affirming the increasingly high position of Quang Ninh education on the regional and international knowledge map.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, commended teacher Ha Dai Ton, teacher in charge of the 2025 Informatics team of excellent students at Ha Long Specialized High School.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Education and Training to continue reviewing and advising the province to have more appropriate support mechanisms and policies, creating the best conditions for the work of discovering and nurturing excellent students; especially focusing on supporting students in the process of studying, training, and participating in national and international competitions. He emphasized that information technology is a key field, playing an important role in the digital transformation process and socio -economic development of the province. Breakthrough policies to train, attract and develop high-quality information technology human resources are a solid foundation, contributing to building Quang Ninh into one of the leading localities in innovation. On the occasion of the new school year 2025-2026, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee wished the students good health and greater achievements in studying and training.

Over the years, the Education and Training sector of Quang Ninh has always received comprehensive attention and investment from the province, with many synchronous and effective mechanisms and policies. The school system has been increasingly upgraded and modernized; the quality of the teaching staff has been improved; the emulation movement of good teaching - good learning continues to be promoted. Thanks to that, education has continuously developed, achieving many outstanding achievements in national and international arenas, gradually affirming its position as one of the localities with leading education quality in the region and the country. In 2025, the average score of Quang Ninh's high school graduation exam will be ranked 12th out of 34 new provinces and cities; Quang Ninh also has 88 students winning prizes in the 2024-2025 school year and is honored to have 5 students selected to participate in the national team selection exam for the International Olympics.
