Farmers Support Fund to promote production and business activities

Up to now, the Provincial Farmers' Association (PPA) is managing the Farmers' Support Fund (FPF) of over 63 billion VND. In the first quarter of 2024, the Association has disbursed 12 projects with a total amount of 4.77 billion VND. From this capital source, more and more farmers' association members (FPA) are making efforts to produce and do business (SXKD), striving to get rich, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.

After 3 years of leaving the army, Mr. Bui Van To, Tam 1 hamlet, Thanh Hoi commune (Tan Lac) returned to his hometown to start a business, gradually building a model of raising sows and pigs with a scale of nearly 220 pigs. Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, production and consumption activities were limited, so income decreased significantly. Not discouraged, Mr. To boldly applied for a loan from the People's Credit Fund to continue production and business. With a loan of 30 million VND, he invested in raising 3 more breeding buffaloes and raising free-range chickens. Up to now, the farming model has been expanded, providing a stable income. With a herd of 6 buffaloes, hundreds of chickens and pigs, each year his family earns 450 - 500 million VND, creating jobs for 3 - 4 local workers. With determination and perseverance, Mr. To's family has become a typical HVND household in the local emulation movement for good production and business.

From the People's Credit Fund, in Tan Lac district, there have been a number of effective economic projects and models such as: raising buffaloes, cows, pigs for breeding, raising goats, honey bees; growing dragon fruit; crossbreeding and grafting native plants; growing do trees for seeds; raising fish, free-range chickens..., gradually building a brand for high-quality products.

Since the beginning of the year, the Provincial People's Council Fund has received 4 billion VND from the provincial budget allocated in 2024; 1 billion VND from the Central Association's entrusted capital; and 4.255 billion VND from the district budget. The total source of the Provincial People's Council Fund is currently managed by 63.515 billion VND, of which the Central Association's source is 15,850 million VND, the provincial budget is 19,299 million VND, the district budget is 18,305 million VND, and the source mobilized from cadres and members is over 10 billion VND. Thanks to the People's Council Fund, the People's Council has more resources to invest in economic development, income is improved, and gradually overcomes difficulties and escapes poverty.

Along with good management of the Farmers' Association Fund, the Provincial Farmers' Association continues to sign a coordination program with 3 banks (Agriculture and Rural Development, Social Policy, Lien Viet Post ) to implement partial entrustment in the lending process for farmers in general, poor households and other policy beneficiaries in particular. In the first quarter, the Association at all levels managed over 1,600 lending groups with nearly 52,200 borrowing households, with total outstanding loans from banks reaching VND 3,982.48 billion. Along with capital support, training activities, scientific and technical training, improving production skills for farmers, expanding production linkages along the value chain, improving the quality of agricultural products, stabilizing product output... were promoted, contributing to concretizing the Project on restructuring the agricultural sector, promoting the National Target Program on new rural construction in localities.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Huong Hai, Vice President of the Provincial Farmers' Association, said: The establishment of the Farmers' Association Fund has received attention from Party committees, authorities, and the Standing Committees of Farmers' Associations at all levels. This is an effective capital support channel for members, thereby promoting the emulation movement of production and business among farmers, forming high-income economic models, suitable for local characteristics, both having the power to spread and concretize the Project on restructuring the agricultural sector, and contributing to the innovation of agriculture - farmers - rural areas and building new rural areas at the grassroots level. On the other hand, this is also a channel connecting farmers to carry out political tasks and mobilize farmers to participate in the organization of the Association. By the end of 2023, the whole province had 70,789 registered Farmers' Association households and 40,132 households achieved the title of excellent production and business at all levels (achieving 121.6% of the assigned target). Many economic development models of farmers thanks to loans have been effective and highly appreciated, such as: Dien grapefruit growing model in Hang Tram town (Yen Thuy); breeding cows in Thong Nhat commune (Lac Thuy); goat breeding combined with tourist accommodation business in Mai Chau town (Mai Chau)...
