Phu Quoc Pearl Island is a destination that attracts many domestic and foreign tourists with more than 2 million arrivals, including 474,468 international visitors, an increase of 66.5% over the same period, reaching 40.3% of the yearly plan.
Director of Kien Giang Department of Tourism Bui Quoc Thai said that the Department will coordinate with relevant agencies and units to continue implementing tourism stimulus solutions associated with linking and cooperating with provinces and cities across the country to develop tourism.

Many tourism businesses and key tourist areas of the province organize programs, events, entertainment, build and add new products and services to serve tourists on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the festival celebrating the 289th anniversary of the founding of Tao Dan Chieu Anh Cac (1736 - 2025) and Vietnam Poetry Day... Phu Quoc International Passenger Port welcomes the first ships of the year bringing tourists to the island, opening up a space for connection and development of maritime tourism. The province organizes typical events and activities, promotes tourism, introduces the potential, strengths, images, land and people of Kien Giang to domestic and international tourists; coordinates the preparation for the APEC-2027 Summit Week in the island city of Phu Quoc.
Kien Giang continues to focus on solutions and tourism stimulus programs, developing specific tourism products associated with building separate brands for tourist areas and destinations; at the same time, strengthening the work of promoting, promoting, linking, and cooperating in tourism development to achieve the goal of welcoming 11.05 million visitors by 2025, including 1.2 million international visitors. The province is studying to open up the direction of developing maritime transport to Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia, in which, prioritizing the coastal transport route connecting Phu Quoc, Ha Tien (Kien Giang) with Cambodia and Thailand to connect the southern coastal corridor tourism route.
In the immediate future, Kien Giang Tourism Industry and tourism businesses in the four key tourist areas of the province will carefully prepare the necessary conditions to welcome and serve tourists on the occasion of Hung Kings' death anniversary (10th of the third lunar month), the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), International Labor Day (May 1), etc.
Along with that, Kien Giang Tourism Department provides training and professional development on rural tourism development, improves capacity for managers of the Agricultural and Rural Tourism Development Program in building new rural areas; at the same time, organizes knowledge updates for international and domestic tour guides.
The province coordinates the implementation of promotion programs, advertising, association activities, and development cooperation in key domestic and foreign tourism markets; organizes cultural and tourism events and activities in the area to attract tourists to Kien Giang. The province implements the association and cooperation program for tourism development between Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta in 2025 and with provinces and cities in the Central and Northern regions...
In another development, the province coordinated to prepare for the APEC Summit Week 2027 in the island city of Phu Quoc. Mr. Tran Minh Khoa, Chairman of Phu Quoc City People's Committee shared that the implementation of APEC projects not only aims to develop modern infrastructure but also affirms Phu Quoc's position on the international map, promotes the economy, tourism and improves the quality of life for local people. The APEC Summit 2027 is an important milestone for Phu Quoc, Kien Giang province in particular and Vietnam in general to international friends.
Accordingly, the Central Government and the province have identified and proactively built and upgraded many key projects and works, completed infrastructure, and served the APEC-2027 Summit Week. Specifically, the construction and upgrading of Phu Quoc International Airport to level 4E, with full items, increased capacity of the terminal, cargo terminal, VIP terminal, aircraft parking, upgraded runway; An Thoi international seaport to welcome the world's super luxury cruise ships; construction of new urban roads, APEC boulevard projects, lakes and water plants, renovation of Duong Dong river, etc.

In particular, the province built the APEC Multi-functional Complex with a total capacity of nearly 15,000 people, including the Convention and Exhibition Center for organizing international conferences and seminars; multi-purpose auditorium; international press center; APEC square, high-rise complex with hotel, duty-free shopping mall and multi-purpose Cultural and Art Palace...
These modern key projects, when completed, together with existing iconic projects such as the Kissing Bridge, the world's longest Hon Thom cable car, the Kiss of the Sea multimedia show, etc., will not only contribute to the success of APEC-2027, but also create a new symbol for Phu Quoc, creating sustainable values for the "Pearl Island" tourism industry.
Phu Quoc leaders said that the island city maintains the movement "Day for Phu Quoc Environment" to spread the movement to become a regular activity, continuously closely following the goal of "For a green, clean, beautiful, safe and civilized Phu Quoc environment"; taking care of cultural development, building a healthy cultural tourism environment; promoting communication information to promote tourism, each citizen is a "friendly tourism ambassador"; building the unique cultural features of Phu Quoc, aiming to orient local tourism to develop sustainably.
